Album 54: Clanging Cymbals...and the Meaning of God's Love

Clanging Cymbals...and the Meaning of God's Love is the 54th Adventures in Odyssey mainstream album. It was released for digital download on August 15, 2011 and released on CD in October 2011.

Description

What is the true meaning of love? The kids in Odyssey will find out even while the town is buzzing with competition. A scavenger hunt pits Matthew, Jay, and Barrett against each other in a musical extravaganza. Can Barrett take his eyes off the prize to focus on what’s truly important? Meanwhile, Olivia struggles to show "brotherly love" when Matthew wants to take away her role as Wooton’s camp assistant and Eugene must decide how to be honest when Connie showers him with a string of gifts...that he can’t stand. Integrity, trust, and forgiveness are all put to the test as the folks in Odyssey learn the lessons of 1 Corinthians 13.

Notes

  • This album was originally supposed to be 53, but Focus decided to bump it back an album.
  • A tentative name for this album was "A More Excellent Way", which comes from the last verse in 1 Corinthians 12.
  • This album is centered mainly around the Bible verses in 1 Corinthians 13.
  • Josiah Duggar plays a character in this album.
  • This album marks the first appearance of Principal Vogler, who was mentioned in Album 52 but had not yet appeared in an episode.
  • There was originally supposed to be no mention of the events of Album 53 in this album, but there was a last-minute change and three new episodes were recorded in May 2011 that pick up where Album 53 left off.
  • This album is the first since Album 43: Along for the Ride to be made up entirely of single-part episodes.
