Revising the Stub Template

The stub template has been large and somewhat distracting for a quite a long time. I propose that we change it to be a little more discrete. This will create a better look on the thousands of pages that use the template.

I think we do need a more hidden notice because some of the articles honestly cant really be expanded all the much. So do we really need the stub template the biggest thing on the page? New Infobox

it's planned to be used after the 1.17 upgrade, the design of it is almost done but there is a fair amount of recoding to do on it yet to make it more compatible with future versions (1.18) Reddo 17:25, 9 May 2011 (PDT)

The Updated Whitsend.org

When the Odyssey team updated Whitsend.org, they changed the system they use. Because of this, all of the links have been changed to a different format. Thus breaking all of the links pointing to Whitsend.org on AIOwiki. But because the new link system is name based, perhaps we could come up with a template to automatically add the links into episode and album pages? International Adventures in Odyssey Schedule

Does anyone know how much of the world uses the same schedule for Adventures in Odyssey as the one posted here? Is it only the United States and Canada? Here's one alternate schedule Internationally: http://www.ccfm.org.za/go/index.php?id=642 --Odyssey123

I believe that Focus sends out the programs on the schedule we have here to whichever stations "subscribe" to them, or something like that. However, some stations probably have their own schedule. Gooey98 ~ (talk) 10:38, 9 August 2011 (PDT)

If both the Australia and South Africa schedules are reliably the same then this is probably not an arbitrary station choice. Would you be able to post the 2009+ schedule somewhere? I got a reply from Rudy Haerr, turns out that all the international stations get a big list of episodes every 3 months and then each station chooses what episodes they want to air from that list and when they want to air them, then in 3 months they get a new list to choose from. I got another email today, turns out that what i just posted is wrong and infact there is an official international schedule. I think we should include the international schedule in some way on the wiki, just not sure how yet. How difficult is it going to be to split off the schedule and create a second one for the international dates? Another schedule issue is with dates that Odyssey episodes have aired on the Focus on the Family broadcast. So far the few fotf dates are mixed in with the daily Odyssey calendar, but what happens when an episode aired the same day for both? character and actor pages

over the next few days I'll be completely redoing the characters are listed on actor pages, the way actors are listed on character pages, and the list of episodes on staff pages. At times the wiki might be slow but I'll try to do most of it at night for North America. When it's done hopefully it should be a lot more reliable (check out Olivia Parker says there's only 1 actor) and hopefully it'll be a little bit faster too Reddo 23:05, 25 August 2011 (PDT)

yeah it's been flaky pretty much since it was made and I finally got fed up with it enough to make a new system. Currently I've updated the staff pages list section so they'll now show all characters that they've played, even if we don't have a page for that character yet. It fixed the long time problem that page for Andre Stojka didn't list whit as a character. The wiki's also in the process of remaking the infobox for all the cast and crew correcting the incorrect number of character played stat as well as adding a new stat for podcast appearances and generating a new category for us category:Podcast Actors. Unused Files

I'm going to add Soda Fountain links along with the Whit's End, Odyssey Scoop, Odyssey Library links. I have already add the ISBN link to the templates that are made and I'm going to add the Soda Fountain link. Since it will have all the links then the album pages will not need resource section. Jenny Whitaker

Post-Production or Producer

I have read that post-production is the music designer. On B-TV: Live, the aiowiki has Dave Arnold, Johnathon Crowe, Rudy Hair as post-production but the AIO Library has them as producers. The AIO Library does show the difference for example in Kidsboro, Part 1‎ it has GAP Digital as the post-producer and producer. Newly Released Covers

I found out from Brock that the newly released covers are not actually the final covers. Tyndale somehow got an early draft. Which means that Tom will be lassoing the AIO logo on album 34. It looks like they changed it so that each category link will always be displayed on a single line instead of "wrapping" to the next line when it gets too close to the right side. They also seemed to space them out more. Both of these factors do add to the space that category boxes take up. I'll look into those two things tomorrow, I was busy tweaking the mp3 extension today, we can now use [[file:702 Sample.mp3]] this registers file use so we can finally get all of those unused files that are actually being used cleaned up. Updated Main Page

I was reading through the Town Hall archives to see what I missed over the past few months. I noticed that Nate wanted to update the Main Page layout when the new logo is chosen. Since it looks like no-one has started on a new design, I went ahead and created a new layout for the Main Page. You can see it on User:Eugene/Main Page Concept. I kept the same colours, but changed the look of the boxes. The overall layout hasn't been changed much, but I added some new sections to feature more of our content.

Podcasts

I made a little template that makes it easier to keep podcast summaries up to date, it works just like the season pages in that it uses information from each podcast page to generate the summary view instead of doing everything by hand. You can see it for the first page here, thoughts? anything i should add or remove? The main reason for this is that our current lists hacen't been updated since August of last year. An Idea I have.

I was thinking it'd be cool if we could make pages for the different characters that were timelines of different key events from episodes. It'd be tricky to do... But I was just thinking like with Whit there's so much for him. Creating a Wiki

My siblings and I want to create a Wiki website for one of our favorite TV shows. (Sue Thomas F.B.Eye) but we can't figure out how to create a Wiki site using our Mac computers. Can anyone give us some info on to how to start one? Thanks! Psalm 138:8~Mamie Rose~ 08:08, 11 March 2012 (MDT)

using your mac to create a wiki will only let you and who ever has access to your computer see the site, if you want it to be available to everyone you'll need to go through a hosting company like dreamhost and purchase a domain name. After you have one of those two things complete you'll need to make sure your system (mac or web server) meets the requirements

apache web server program to serve pages (or similar program)
php 5.2.3 or later
database program (I'd recommend MySQL 4.0+)
ImageMagick for photo conversion and thumbnailing
one last requirement is you need to have shell access to run maintenance scripts and upgrades

due to the recent increase in IP's making new pages filled with spam I've disabled page creation for people that aren't logged in. I didn't want to, but there wasn't really any other choice, I tried making captcha's and other things but it didn't work, so now anyone wants to create a page they have to log in. Hopefully they don't start editing pages and doing that. That would require reverting it. Which the nice thing with them creating pages its relatively easy to fix. Sort episodes in Collection albums

I thing the Quotes for Something Old, Something New, Part 1 are in the wrong place, but I don't know where they go, can someone fix this?

Passages: Darien's Rise album art

On the Passages: Darien's Rise album page ,in the "Gallery" why is the "front cover" not the "original front cover." On http://www.whitsend.org/albums/passages-dariens-rise.aspx it has the "Original front cover" and on the cbd product page it has the "Original front cover" as the album art.

They've actually been doing better lately about keeping things updated, that's not saying much though. The Official site needs someone besides Nathan working on it, he has to many other things to do. Yeah, that incorrect proposed cover art has been bugging me for a while. They should get Jacob Isom to do the site (just an idea). After all, the odyssey scoop is pretty up-to-date with what's happening. This is written assuming you couldn't do the site. Although I suppose it might have to be someone working with Focus. Jared and Trent DeWhite's Quotes Page..

I was able to track down the problem and also uncovered another issue while investigating. Someone added a second group of quotes in the plot section of The Present Long Ago. There are two options to rectify the issue. Either we can leave it with two quote sections and fix the numbering, or re-arrange the page so that there is only one quote section. I prefer the second option as it will return the page to the normal form of episode pages.

The other issue I found was in this archive page: Adventures_in_Odyssey_Wiki:Town_Hall/Archive8#Quotes. I don't want to alter the archives, but it's causing a problem where it tries to add these quotes.

Mobile App/Website

I think we should add either a mobile app, for like Iphones and androids, blackberries, things like that, or when AIO Wiki detects that they're using a phone, it automatically switches to a mobile website. We should probably do the second thing, mobile website. 'Cause a lot of people don't want to, say, have to download an app just to see how many episodes Whit has been in.
