Timothy "Timmy" Riley is Tom Riley's deceased son, who died in a boating accident over thirty years ago before his father's second marriage.
Timmy, who worked on the farm with his father, had an experience as a preteen that caused a revival in his faith. He recorded this experience in a journal that was discovered by Tom years after his son's death in Timmy's old cabin, which originally built by Johnny Appleseed. After recovering the journal, Tom decided to build a youth retreat for the children of Odyssey, and named it the Timothy Center.

His father was Tom Riley. Tom's second wife, Agnes, was his stepmother.
Timmy met P.D. Barnes, a young trouble making boy whom his father invited into the family. Shortly afterward, while Timmy and P.D. were fishing in Trickle Lake, P.D.'s horsing around in the boat caused it to overturn, leading to Timmy's tragic drowning. The date was March 20th, 1973.

P.D. Barnes: You do?
Timothy Riley: Uh huh. I can introduce you to him if you want me to.
P.D. Barnes: Where does this friend of yours live?
Timothy Riley: Right here, in my heart. His name is Jesus.
|“||Fletcher: Praise to the Unseen One for what He let me see and hear! I want to rouse my commanders at once.
Timothy Riley: Now? Why?
Fletcher: Because I have a new plan of attack!
|“||Alice (a): And then Timmy looked out of his cell window and saw something that made him realize beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he wasn't anywhere near the camp or Odyssey or anything he knew in our world.
Timothy Riley: No, no! It can't be!
Tom Riley: What did he see?
Alice (a): Two moons.
