John Whittker picture size

Okay, so NateDude24 made the picture of John Whittaker 150px large becuase . . . well, I don't know why. AIOCREFan then undid the edit and said "Why make the picture so small? Many other character have their pictures as big as this one was." I agree with AIOCREFan. I don't see why it should be made so small. AIO can't say that it's illegal since it the image was released legally on the back of Album 51. Nate just photoshopped it so that the image was just Whit. I think that 150 pixals is way to small. People practically have to squint to see the image. It is more user friendly to have it larger. MarvelousMarvin 19:24, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

For folks with a large resolution there is a white space below the first paragraph, that may be why Nate did that. Erwin Springer [talk] 22:33, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
I believe NateDude24 did that because this is the way it looked before. I reverted the photo and corrected it by putting white space there. AIOCREFan 01:45, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
My idea was that we could put several of the character's pictures in the infobox, side by side. I haven't gotten around to it yet. God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 01:50, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Archeologist

What about the fact he used to be an archeologist? Whit says that himself in episodes The Top Floor part 1, 2, & 3. I'm a little confused about all that.....

what about it are you confused by? Reddo 15:07, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Page protection

Seems we might have to protect this one, too. Do we just need to protect the entire wiki or something until the fad of deleting major portions of articles to replace them with obnoxious gibberish blows over? TigerShadow (talk) 09:21, 29 May 2014 (MDT)

It's actually not too horrible. It's been more severe. For the most part with your reversions and my occasional check-ups. We are on top of things. If they do get really horrible (as in the point that I became an admin), then Reddo (or Shadowpaw) might have to lock it down again for a little bit. For now it seems manageable. Since this is both a high use and a featured article, it might be worth it to at least make this article registered users only. --KnightMiner (talk|contribs) 08:20, 3 June 2014 (MDT)

The Age of John Avery Whitaker

It appears that Whit... is 93 years old. Jesusboy03 (Talk) 13:52, 22 January 2019 (MST)

He should be, but it seems that he is eternally youthful. :). Right now I think he's in his 60's or 70's.ConnieKendall fan  talk Proverbs 13:20He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. (Guestbook) 15:19, 22 January 2019 (MST)
Early 80's. Cartoon Nostalgia 19:10, 22 January 2019 (MST)
Uh…no. Based on his voice and how active he is, he can't be 80+ in my opinion. It just doesn't seem logical.ConnieKendall fan  talk Proverbs 13:20He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. (Guestbook) 23:29, 23 January 2019 (MST)
Well, we all know how aging is weird in Odyssey.Cough cough, Connie, cough cough But according to the canonical book, Young Whit and the Traitor's Treasure, Whit was about 4 years old when Sir Arthur Conan Doyle died. Given that he died in 1930, that would mean that Whit was born about 1926. And this would still allow him to have served in the latter years of World War II. So, in 2019, he should be indeed 93ish years old. I wonder if he still skydives. Jesusboy03 (Talk) 16:33, 24 January 2019 (MST)
That doesn't mean AIO takes place in 2019. It could be stuck in 1995 or so... Scientific Guy (talk / AIOC Episode Timeline) 18:23, 24 January 2019 (MST)

If you count how many Christmases there are, they are actually in at least the year 2000, I think. But it doesn't really matter. Point being; Whit doesn't age. :).ConnieKendall fan  talk Proverbs 13:20He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. (Guestbook) 23:50, 24 January 2019 (MST)

Don't forget that also in Young Whit & the Traitor's Treasure, when Whit is 9 or 10, that the civil war ended about 70 years ago. That means Whit was born in 1925 or 1926, so chances are that he IS 90ish. WootonBasset (talk) 09:01, 29 January 2019 (MST)
That's only true if Odyssey is set in current time. They could be in 1970 for all we know. Whit just doesn't age. And if he did he would be likely to pass away at anytime. And also likely, he'd be calmer and retired. :)ConnieKendall fan  talk Proverbs 13:20He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. (Guestbook) 12:29, 30 January 2019 (MST)

Major Characters category

Whit is missing from Category: Major Characters. Is this category auto-populated? Why is Whit missing? Gooey98 ~ (talk) 10:39, 17 August 2023 (MDT)
