Robert Kosinsky was one of three men that Alvin York met in basic training. He was a fellow Christian along with Alvin, allowing the two to bond more closely. Going into boot camp he was not so good a shot, but improved overtime. He described himself as having rugged good looks. He also had a tendency to go and explore as during one night he searched the local countryside and found a goat at a local barn, using it for cream in he and his comrades coffee and being berated by Captain Danforth in the process.

Robert Kosinsky was one of three men that Alvin York got to know at basic training, along with Murray (d) Savage and Harry Parsons. He hailed from Illinois and was a fellow Christian, having come forward during a revival meeting five years previously. During the war he was usually one of the more rational of the men with the exception of the time he went and grabbed a goat for coffee cream and was criticized by Captain Danforth. During their opening battle in the Argon Forrest, airplanes were flying overhead and he felt fearful, for which Alvin prayed for him. Robert was the first of the four men to die in battle after a bomb landed near him and Alvin and killed him.

Any family he may have is unknown.
