Welcome Back

Nice to see that you may stay. ;-) Erwin Springer [talk] 16:12, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Perhaps revision suppression is necessary? Erwin Springer [talk] 02:09, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
Your awesome :) Erwin Springer [talk] 02:23, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
thanks, i do what I can Reddo 06:12, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Slideshow

Do you know how to align the slideshow? It doesn't seem to work with center or div tags. Erwin Springer [talk] 01:37, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

yeah that extension had some real problems with it, I've deleted it for now Reddo 06:12, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Server Slow

The server seems to be running very slow. Are you working on it? God Bless ~ Natedude24~ My Talk 20:20, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

No I wasn't working on it, I checked into it and our hosting company had some DDoS attacks this morning but it should be back to normal now, let me know if you are still experiencing any slowness Reddo 23:16, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
It works normal again. God Bless ~ Natedude24~ My Talk 22:22, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
It seams to be running slow once again. God Bless ~ Natedude24~ My Talk 15:51, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Sorry about that but there's not a whole lot I can do, usually when i work on the server it either causes no lag, or I crash the whole site. whenever a new version of mediawiki is installed though it does cause some lag, however this only happens twice a year or so Reddo 05:41, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Bible Verses

I am confused about the method of bible verses that we are using. Can I do anything to help with this project? God Bless ~ Natedude24~ My Talk 16:20, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Sorry about the long reply there, what we need to do is to finish uploading the entire books of the bible with the right formatting (see the sub page of spiderman for a list of what's been done and what hasn't) once that's done it should be an easy change to the infobox template to make it work on all the episode pages, although a few will probably need some clean-up, i keep meaning to get the formatting of those pages done but things seem to keep getting in the way, right now next weekend looks pretty open Reddo 05:49, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

re inappropriate usernames

I see and agree, thanks. I'll do my best to block them so no traces will be left! On a slightly related note, do we have a tool that suppresses redirects when moving pages? I don't know if that's in a a certain mediawiki version or it's an extension or what, but I've seen it on other wikis. Thanks! Erwin Springer [talk] 21:38, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Also, you can remove rollback from me, as it should be included in the sysop flag I think. Erwin Springer [talk] 21:39, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
can you show me a wiki that you can do that on? Reddo 10:03, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
http://meta.yourwiki.net/wiki/Special:Log/move Look at the second log. Erwin Springer [talk] 14:15, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
thanks i'll look into it Reddo 06:12, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Episode Infobox

Sorry about that, I didn't even think to do it in the sandbox. So do you know why it's being all weird? I'm not sure how to describe it but there's a text error on my part somewhere and I can't find it. Would you mind looking? Sandbox Episode; Template. I'm trying to make it link to bible gateway on the episode template. That way it would thin our wanted pages a lot. Then when the new system is complete, we could change it back. God Bless ~ Natedude24~ My Talk 06:25, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Recent changes

Why doesn't my name show up in green in the recent changes? God Bless ~ Natedude24~ My Talk 21:21, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Check.svg Done That css is not based on who is in the usergroup, but is done manually. You may not have clear your cache to see it though. Erwin Springer [talk] 22:28, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Darien's Rise, Part 2

On the news for September 25, you keep reverting my changes, but the episode page is all up to date. I see no need for it to still say, "After listening visit the episode page where you can help us fill in the details and rate the episode". God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 15:32, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

Improvements on the cast section, quotes, rating, etc. Erwin Springer [talk] 21:37, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

Sorry

Sorry. I didn't see that till a little bit ago. AIOCREFan 02:03, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

that's fine, it's okay, I'd like to post them too but Nathan asked us to wait Reddo 02:07, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
How did Nathan Hoobler know that we had posted the previews? MarvelousMarvin 13:46, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
he doesn't know that they were up for a short period, but he mentioned it while I was asking him about the previews and if FOTF would have a problem with us streaming then, and he said that there was no problem with it but that we should wait until after the official site has posted a preview before linking to it Reddo 20:42, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
By the way....I'm just curious....don't answer if you don't want to. Is your name mentioned anywhere in the Official Guide? MarvelousMarvin 06:34, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Bot

So I tried to create a bot using python, but I can't seem figure it out. Could you please help me? God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 05:56, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

I could try and help you out with it, I've never really used a python bot before though, all of mine I've created with excel and vb. I think a better place to get help might be the IRC channel listed at the top of that page. What part are you stuck on? Reddo 15:44, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
Well I can't seem to configure it for MediaWiki. God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 16:27, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
I dropped by to read comments briefly if you're wondering (thank you, by the way)...You'll also need a family file called aiowiki_family.py in the families sub-directory in the main pywikipeida directory. Here's what I used:
 # -*- coding: utf-8  -*-

import family

 # aiowiki. #Put a short project description here.

class Family(family.Family):

     def __init__(self):
         family.Family.__init__(self)
         self.name = 'aiowiki' # Set the family name; this should be the same as in the filename.
         self.langs = {
             'en': 'aiowiki.com', # Put the hostname here. http://www.aiowiki.com/wiki/Main_Page
         }

         # Translation used on all wikis for the different namespaces.
         # Most namespaces are inherited from family.Family.
         # Check the family.py file (in main directory) to see the standard
         # namespace translations for each known language.
         # You only need to enter translations that differ from the default.
         self.namespaces[4] = {
             '_default': u'Adventures in Odyssey Wiki', # Specify the project namespace here.
         }

         self.namespaces[5] = {
             '_default': u'Adventures in Odyssey Wiki talk', # Specify the talk page of the project namespace here.
         }

         self.namespaces[102] = {'_default':u'Schedule'}
         self.namespaces[103] = {'_default':u'Schedule talk'}
         self.namespaces[104] = {'_default':u'News'}
         self.namespaces[105] = {'_default':u'News talk'}
         self.namespaces[100] = {'_default':u'Bible Verse'}
         self.namespaces[101] = {'_default':u'Bible Verse talk'}

     def version(self, code):
         return "1.15.0" # The MediaWiki version used. Not very important in most cases.

     def scriptpath(self, code):
         return '/w' # The relative path of index.php, api.php : look at your wiki address.
# This line may need to be changed to /wiki or /w,
# depending on the folder where your mediawiki program is located.
# Note: Do not _include_ index.php, etc.

I think that I'm going to put on a new logo contest. should I do it just like last time, or make some changes? God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 04:40, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Merging Users

Hey Reddo, I was wandering if you could merge MarvalousMarvin's edits with mine under my current user account? When I first created MarvalousMarvin I didn't realize that it was spelled incorrectly, so I created a new account. MarvelousMarvin 14:37, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Check.svg Done I merged the two accounts for you, I also deleted the old account to keep the user table clean Reddo 18:49, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Reddo! I appreciate it. MarvelousMarvin 15:07, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Album 51 Countdown

Reddo, could you or Natedude24 photoshop the logo for from the cover of album 51. I would like to use it in the New Episodes template. (You know, kind of like the logo for Darien's Rise that's curently in the template.) Thanks! MarvelousMarvin 13:47, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Check.svg Done see here it's a little rougher than I would like, maybe Natedude24 can touch it up a bit, I was actually planning on making one like this next week during me time off Reddo 20:26, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
That looks pretty good. My only concern is that it may be too white. Should we change the color? MarvelousMarvin 06:37, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Well I figured that it would go on top of the pink background . . .
God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 21:56, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Well, okay. I still thought it looked too white, but I guess it's all right. MarvelousMarvin 10:36, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Resouces

Reddo, am I correct in the perception that we are not listing resouces on the episode pages? MarvelousMarvin 18:30, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

The "this page elsewhere" sidebar links are the replacement for the resources section. God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 21:14, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

Extension

Could you install mw:Extension:Cite/Cite.php? I think that it would be good if we put citations on our information. God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 03:38, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

I would really prefer not too, things like that extension are one of the reasons that wikipedia is currently loosing editors Reddo 17:53, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
Oh really? Why's that? Don't you think that we'd gain creditability if we were to cite? God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 04:55, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
While we would probably gain credibility, i don't think credibility is really an issue for us, i doubt that there are people out there that are writing reports or anything on AIO and need to have credible references.
The reason that i don't really want us using it is that i want AIO to be easy to edit and to avoid becoming like wikipedia has with so many policies on citations, references, licenses ect. that are confusing and discouraging for new users. That's my thoughts on it anyways, plus i'm not really sure what we would cite, the episodes themselves? Anyways if the community as a whole wants it I can install it, it's not just my choice Reddo 07:35, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
I'd be all for this as well. Erwin Springer [talk] 22:35, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
Wait, Erwin you do want to have this extension installed? God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 23:12, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
Indeed. ;) Erwin Springer [talk] 23:14, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
Ok well I think that we should have it installed, but not have it a requirement to cite things. If we want to cite ourselves, that would be fine, but I don't want people to feel obligated. God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 05:49, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Guys, I'll admit I really don't understand the technology of all this. However, let me echo Reddo sentiments earlier. If this is going to discourage people from editing on AIOWiki, than it is probably not a good idea. We are already lacking in editors as it is. Adding to the problem won't help things. I also agree with him in the respect that we don't really need credibility. What Nate just said might make it all right in my opinion. I'd have to know what citations were. But if Reddo's vote is no, so is mine. I'll go with whatever he says. MarvelousMarvin 23:30, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

I installed it as a trial thing, well see how it goes, I also did a fairly massive dpl upgrade not sure if everything works well with the new code, it should but let me know if you see any bugs, if we can't fix them it's a 5 second change to go back to our old version Reddo 02:20, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Hey no long no write

I have been on since Sept. 11 2009. So it's been a while. I have spent some time on wikipedia.org so I know a little bit more. But mainly I'm in school. Is there anything new thats happened? Is Irwin Springer still very active? Stop Wooton Around 03:12, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

Not too many things have changed lately. As you probably know we're having our logo contest, but other than that not really any major events. Erwin Springer is not nearly as active as he was before his fast, but he still has great ideas, and edits more often than some. God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 04:52, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

Video Characters Categories

Do you know if I can make video character categories? I know back in June or July, I think, Ewrin deleted them all to work on them. Do you know if he is done. P.S. I have reduced the wanted categories page from to 302 to 47. Stop Wooton Around 03:05, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

Split Albums

Greetings, Reddo!

I spent a couple of hours last night fixing the split albums to get rid of the pesky colon problem. So you can now delete Album: 44a: A Most Surprising Return, Album: 44b: A Most Amazing Event, Category:Episodes in Album: 44a: A Most Surprising Return, and Category:Episodes in Album: 44b: A Most Amazing Event. I've already checked, nothing links to them.

And could you please explain how the rating system works? The rating page templates for albums 44a and 44b were deleted because they didn't work. Here's why: Those two pages were looking for episode ratings in Category:Episodes in Album 44a: A Most Surprising Return and Category:Episodes in Album 44b: A Most Amazing Event (which didn't exist before I created them last night) when the episodes were actually in categories with an extra colon after the word "album". Now that I've fixed the colon problem, I think that the ratings will now work. We just have to re-create the pages.

Oh, and a side question. Is there a way to move pictures to new locations or rename them somehow? Many thanks! --Eugene 14:52, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

thanks for all your work on that those ones work now, and for moving pages that requires an admin right as of now, however i can change that if you're interested in having that permission Reddo 22:50, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Really? Okay, then. I accept! Thanks! --Eugene 23:53, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
okay, i changed things on the server you should be able to move files now Reddo 19:34, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

mp3 player

do you think we should change the player background color to something like a light blue, because the same as the infobox color doesn't look very good in my opinion. God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 05:50, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Or could a it be transparent, and then it would blend anywhere and could be put in a colored table for place like the infobox. Erwin Springer [talk] 21:37, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
Check.svg Done took a bit of bug fixing from the code that was posted but i made it transparent now Reddo 18:24, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
just to clarify that, if you edit the infobox template you can change the background to be whatever color you want now, it's no longer a server thing Reddo 22:29, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Error

I recieved the following error a few times today...I'm not sure what it means, but I thought I'd post it so you would be aware. Erwin Springer [talk] 18:31, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Notice: Use of undefined constant theme - assumed 'theme' in /home/.jarvis/aiowiki/aiowiki/w/extensions/JQueryTabs/JQueryTabs.php on line 35
hmm, did you get that with erwinbot? i've had that error with reddobot a few times but it doesn't effect the page at all, it comes from some php that i attempted to code myself, let me know if you see it again Reddo 06:01, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
No, it I think it was the effect of opening about 15 editing tabs. Erwin Springer [talk] 22:08, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Favicon

So could you upload this image to the server as the favicon, I think it would be better. It is Gary Locke's artwork instead of the clipart. God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 21:10, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

Check.svg Done sorry about taking so long, i was without internet for a while during holidays and then i came back and had a lot to do and then proceeded to completely forget about this Reddo 05:59, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
Edit:Just for future reference, the favicon should be in ico format, i changed it for you Reddo 06:15, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah I know, but I can't upload .ico images. God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 07:03, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
ahh right, forgot about that, i could add them but i don't see much point if all we use if for is the favicon, either way it's not a big deal it's a quick change Reddo 07:19, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
