Overly generic episode is only saved by Brock Duncan's enthusiastic voice acting and the well-meaning, though somewhat confusing, message. Justin Felbinger sounds more like Morrie than Matthew, and though Eddie Frierson brings energy and gusto to the role of David, he delivers some unconvincing acting as well. The sound design is on par with previous episodes (my only complaint is the camping scenes, which didn't sound outdoor-sy enough to me) and the music is high-quality enough to count as a small point in the episode's favor.

This episode felt like a breath of fresh air. While we might not know much about the Perkins family, the scenes they had in the episode were really good. They have an interesting dynamic and they feel very real. Wyatt is always a lot of fun to hear; Tucker Chandler brings a lot of energy to the role. Although I have been displeased with the Parkers lately, I really liked hearing from Matthew and David this episode. Often, the Parker family episodes are too over-the-top or boring, but this one was simple and sweet. The theme was good. I know kids who - very seriously - want to become adults, so I really liked the theme. My only complaint is when the pilot light is out, Mr. Perkins says, "Wyatt can figure it out. He's your man." No wonder Wyatt thought he needed to be the man of the house! Overall though, I really enjoyed this episode and have listened to it several times.
