Question: Are Adventures in Odyssey episodes still available on itunes? (All I can find is podcasts)
Additional Details: I've used to buy AIO episodes all the time, but now, I can't find them when I type in "Adventures in Odyssey in the search engine at the top of itunes. Any idea what's going on? Thanks!
AIO episodes are no longer available for download on iTunes. There are several reasons why FOTF decided to take AIO episodes of iTunes.
1. Apple gets money from AIO sales on iTunes. With the economy, FOTF needs all the money they can get. More importantly, FOTF (Christian) was not comfortable with Apple (secular) getting money from AIO sales.
2. The system for buying AIO episodes was horrible. And I do mean horrible. You either had to buy the whole album or individual episodes. You couldn't click on an album and either buy the whole album or individual episodes within that album. So they put individual episodes. But they were a pain to find. All this was because the only way to put AIO on iTunes (with the proper pricing) was to mark them as audiobooks. You mentioned that you had purchased episodes there before, so I am sure you know what I am talking about.
However, you can still download AIO episodes here (just click on the album of your choice) or here (a list of episodes) and it fully supports Focus On The Family (it doesn't even support CBD which is where the downloads are hosted). The files are in high quality 256kbps mp3.
Also, there have been many free episodes released through the podcast, although they are slightly lower quality (128kbps), and usually include some behind the scenes info, like an interview with the sound designer, writer, or actor for the show. And occasionally they will make a high quality episode for free on CBD. We will post a news article on the main page with a link to the download when this happens. - I realize this is an older post but there is now rumor that Adventures in Odyssey will be available on iTunes again in the near future. Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 20:43, 12 July 2012 (MDT)
