Template talk:Ep

I went to change the episode links on the Blackgaard saga page, but there's a problem when you want to use the number and have the link be in a heading. See below:

#76 "Eugene's Dilemma"

this is a wikilink with alt text

#76: “Eugene's Dilemma”

this is an ep template, no number

#76: “Eugene's Dilemma”

this is an ep template, with number

Proverbs 22:9A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor. Elementus Green 22:10, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

that's because of the complexity of the template, this is the code that's really in between those to == signs
{{#ifeq:yes|yes|<!--
-->[[Eugene's Dilemma|{{color|{{#ifexist:Eugene's Dilemma|{{ep/color}}|#CC2200}}|{{#ifeq:{{ep num|Eugene's Dilemma}}|||#{{#expr:{{ep num|Eugene's Dilemma}}+0}} }}“Eugene's Dilemma}}”]]<!--
-->|<!--
-->[[Eugene's Dilemma|“{{color|{{#ifexist:Eugene's Dilemma|{{ep/color}}|#CC2200}}|Eugene's Dilemma}}”]]<!--
-->}}
I'm not sure of a way that we can currently fix this Reddo 22:49, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
I understand (a little) that the template is complex. What I don't get is why it works without the number option flagged. What is the essential difference between the two cases?
