A ministry of Samaritan's Purse, Operation Christmas Child demonstrates God's love by delivering gift-filled shoeboxes to needy children worldwide. Each year, individuals, families and groups pack empty shoeboxes with toys, school supplies, hygiene items and more. Those boxes—more than 113 million since 1993—are collected at approximately 3,500 drop-off sites in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, then delivered to eager children in at least 150 countries. It takes 500,000 volunteers to run this annual campaign, which has become a special holiday tradition for givers and receivers alike. It was featured in #748: “The Perfect Gift”.
