Intro Amount Definition
Normal 292 Chris says the normal minimum introduction at that time. Often, "Hi, this is Chris! Welcome to Adventures in Odyssey!" Very common, but often replaced by Character (Chris).
  • In episodes with "Object Lessons," the phrase "...on today's Adventures in Odyssey" before Whit's intro is considered a "Normal" intro.
Empty 22 Chris does not appear in the intro, nor does anyone else; unless a skit is used and the theme is not played, or if something that is usually included is left out (like in #669: “Wooton's Broken Pencil Show”).
Narration 113 Chris talks about something (besides a Skit, besides Normal, and besides Character (Chris)).
Character (Name) Whit (212)

Chris (90)
Eugene (14)
Tom (11)
Connie (26)
Bernard (8)
Bart (5)
Wooton (2)

Someone from Odyssey appears in the intro. This also works as Character (Chris) if Chris talks about a place of "Wonder, Excitement, and Discovery," or something similar. Very common. Character (Whit) does not include Whit's Invention.
Skit 41 This is where a scene takes place in the intro, never containing characters from Odyssey. Chris often interacts with the characters. Common in early episodes.
Previews 256 The intro contains spliced-together scenes from the episode. Very common.
Ad-lib 4 Not a skit or a narration, but Chris strays from simply saying what’s normal. Quite rare.
OAC (AIOC) 3 This intro appears on all Odyssey Adventure Club episodes.
Cutoff 4 The intro starts, but does not have time to run its course because of an interruption by B-TV, OT Action News or the like.
5-Word 148 Chris simply says, "And now, Adventures in Odyssey!" Intermittent.
Whit's Invention 49 The intro has Whit working on a new invention. Most of the time, it doesn't work, but rarely it does. Very common in early episodes.
Object Lesson 15 Chris speaks as an introduction, and then a mini-scene plays, not containing Odyssey characters. Extremely common in early episodes.
Prologue 72 A scene plays before all of the intro is finished. Intermittent.
Recap 141 Scenes are played from previous episodes. Common in multi-part episodes.
Story 15 Chris talks about something, and she concludes her discussion in the wraps. Extremely common in early episodes.
Parental Warning 33 The executive producer notes that content in the episode may not be suitable for younger listeners. Normally, the executive producer announces the parental warning, but Focus on the Family president Jim Daly narrated the one for “The Mysterious Stranger, Parts 1-2”.

Crew (Name) Someone besides (or in addition to) Chris reads the intro. Excludes skits.
Wraps Amount Definition
Normal 852 Chris reads the “Credits” for the episode.
  • Anomaly: Recently, Chris will not read the address/website during the wraps of the broadcast version of an episode. The following clip is then appended to it. The wraps are still considered Normal when this happens.

  • Anomaly: Sometimes, to fill time at the end of an episode, a featurette is included that features Chris and Harlow interviewing fans.

Empty 26 Chris does not read the narration or “Credits,” or something is missing that normally is included (like narration).
Narration 792 Chris talks about something, like a biblical application from the episode (besides a Skit and besides Normal).
