#623: “Buddy Guard” (2007)

History

Phil is an expectantly large man who does his service to the town by pounding unjust victims. 'Big Phil' as his friends call him, seems to get along well with Grady McKay as the two hang out often. Once, when Grady was having an ongoing trouble with Rodney Rathbone, he hired Phil as a bodyguard to protect him at all times, much to Rodney's disliking. But after a time, Phil realized that Grady only wanted to abuse Rodney, instead of only protecting himself. Angry, Phil decided to work for Rodney after the bully offered him batteries in exchange for protection. Spurred by Mr. Whittaker, Grady apologized to both boys, in turn, Phil forgave him.

Along the lines of the episode, Phil mentions having a pet pit bull who apparently doesn't like baths or strangers. Other scenes tell us he drives a car, keeps his room clean, and needs batteries for some intended purpose.
