Question: Why did AIO decide to get rid of Connie's book?

I don't know that they decided to "get rid of the book". It was Kelly who got rid of it. I think they had Kelly do that because they thought that it would be an interesting plot twist and would make for a good storyline between Kelly and Connie. If you are unhappy with the fact that AIO got rid of the book, be content with this: At least they got rid of the book within the show instead of letting the book fade out of exsistance like they do with many of the characters.
