album images

I have a great idea. I tested it [User:Erwin Springer/episode|here] and [User:Erwin Springer/episode2|here]. I created [User:Erwin Springer/num to album|this] template which makes it possible to just type in the album number and the album would show up. This could be used for the album picture too. I made sure the pages are not in cateogorys too! Erwin Springer 01:13, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

that's a good idea, I think that the best place to use it would be at the bottom of the schedule pages for linkable pictures, (episode pages are all done, and no need for preview templates), however within the next month or so a new version of mediawiki is being released that adds support for doing this, (the way we do it now is a bit shoddy, and doesn't always work the best), it might be best to wait for the coming upgrade before we go ahead with it Reddo 16:45, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

to the media wiki edit tools? I simplified the edit tools that they have on Media Wiki Erwin Springer [talk] 22:53, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

that requires the character insert extension to be installed, I'll try to get to it sometime in the next few days Reddo 22:57, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Oh. I also didn't release mediawiki isn't on the interwiki table. THanks if you can get to it. Erwin Springer [talk] 22:59, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Tommorrow's Epiosde

Could you add tommorrow's episode to the main page template. I added something, but I know that it won't work once the end of the month comes. Erwin Springer [talk] 02:02, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

I can, it will take me a few days though (busy with school right now), it's kind of a tricky function, you have to account for different number of days in different months as well as what to do when it is Saturday as there is no episode for Sunday. Reddo 02:17, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, that you're so busy. Erwin Springer [talk]
Check.svg Done it turned out to be easier than i thought Reddo 16:19, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
I see how you did it now. Erwin Springer [talk] 16:28, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Eugene Returns

Why is that album in the new releases? It was released a few years ago. Erwin Springer [talk] 13:12, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Currently it is only available in those tall DVD size cases, it is being re-released in the small jewel style case that all of the other albums are available in 14:27, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Delete

I thought no one had uploadaed Image:AIOLIVEBACK.gif, but it looks like you did, so you can delete the one I uploaded. Erwin Springer [talk] 13:16, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Today's Episode

What was wrong with the revision I made here? I was trying to make it look like a picture on the left and text on the right. Erwin Springer [talk] 23:17, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

here is an image of how it looked when you made that change, it messed up the box color, which isn't a big deal but it really stretches that section of the page out Reddo 16:29, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
I uploaded a new version that shows what I saw. Erwin Springer [talk] 16:36, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Main Page Categories

Is there any way that this page can be edited to not show the categories on the main page, but the main page would still be in those categories. Erwin Springer [talk] 21:22, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

I haven't looked into it but I'm fairly certain that it is possible to do so, but unless your going to add more categories to the main page there isn't much point Reddo 21:40, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Characters

Why not add the {{-}} template to the template for the episode lists? Erwin Springer [talk] 19:53, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

By adding something like this before the table in the template: Erwin Springer [talk] 19:55, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
{{#ifexpr:{{PAGESINCAT:Episodes with {{BASEPAGENAME}} voiced by {{{1}}}}} < 5|{{-}}|}}
Oh, I see. So what types of characters specifically should be using the template ({{-}})? Erwin Springer [talk] 20:00, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
as I said it depends on hoe much of a description/family/history write up they have compared to how big the infobox is, take a look at this page, it's even worse if you collapse the table of contents, it should give you an idea of what I'm talking about Reddo 20:06, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, it doesn't loook any different than the current version. May be I'm looking at the wrong thing. Erwin Springer [talk] 20:14, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
K never mind about that, I looked into what's causing it and it's specific to the webkit rendering engine, and only about 10% of our visitors use it so I guess it's not a big deal Reddo 20:30, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Rollback

Can you give me rollback rights? I would be happy to be able to revert vandalism. It drives me nuts. Erwin Springer [talk] 00:19, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi

Did you get advance copies of Adventures in Odyssey Live and the Novacom album? Erwin Springer [talk] 01:42, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Ha no, I wish I had connections like that to get advanced copies of albums like that. There's a person at FOTF that took those pictures, they were sent out to all the regular fan sites so you can expect to see them appearing in other places over the next few days Reddo 01:51, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
I just looked through all of the major fan sites and found that Odysssey Fan has them up too. Also, is their a bug on my user sub page or something? Erwin Springer [talk] 02:03, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
I'm not sure what's going on with it, i know that the #slideshow function doesn't like it when you use alignment like right on the images, it also doesn't really like it when thumb is used. I think I fixed mostly fixed it using a specific size (250px) instead of thumb and using a <span> to get it over to the right. I think that it looks good in IE, FF, and Opera, although it's not displayed properly when using safari or chrome, hope this helps, Reddo 02:24, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Schedule

I don't know if this is a bad idea, but would it be too hard if we categorized the schedule pages? With Something like: Erwin Springer [talk] 12:49, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

<noinclude>[[Category:2001 Schedule]]</noinclude>
If you want to you can, I don't really see a whole lot of point in doing that, since you can always do the same thing with a dpl statement. As I said if you want to do it, go right ahead but I won't be doing it, as a side note can you hold off making the schedule pages for a day or so? I have an idea but I'm not sure how well it will work/look and if we decide to go ahead with it it will require going back and editing all of the schedule pages we've done so far (although I could create a JS edit button to speed up the process). My idea is that on every episode page there would be some sort of drop down box (similar to the scripture part) that it will show all of the past air dates of that episode, the only change that we would need to make is to link the schedule pages directly to the episode page instead of doing it in a template. Reddo 21:41, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
Is their a site that goes before aiohq does with schedules? Erwin Springer [talk] 22:47, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
Not to my knowledge, you might be able to find something on the internet archive though, although I don't know what site you would search for. I also contacted FOTF to see if the had any past schedules and they told me to go to aiohq Reddo 22:53, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Side bar

I know the side bar is edited here, but how did create the options collapsible? Erwin Springer [talk] 01:46, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

That was done with some JS code, which can be found here, under the collapsible sidebar portlets section. It should be pretty much a straight copy and paste to the JS page of the jonathan park wiki but you may need to tweak some of the portlet names, if you need any help getting it to work let me know and I'll see what I can do Reddo 02:09, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, it worked. On a side note are we not running the latest version of media wiki over here? Erwin Springer [talk] 02:36, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
No currently we are running 1.13.4, there is a new stable version, 1.14, out that we will hopefully be running soon. There is an alpha version of 1.15 out however there are no plans to upgrade to it till it is a stable release as the two of us that have server access don't have a lot of time to play around with things like that. When we get 1.14 running I'll make an announcement in the town hall, with most of the major new features Reddo 02:42, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, I wondered about that. I was going to ask a yourwiki steward, but this will be just fine. Erwin Springer [talk] 13:03, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

dpl sub pages

It probably won't work, but I was trying to create a list of links of categories that when they would be clicked they would preload the correct template. I don't know how to populate a list that only consists of categories that have not been created yet. Erwin Springer [talk] 21:26, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Currently you can't use dpl statments to make lists pages that don't exist very effectively, it is possible but it is a very slow and server intensive process, I tried it once before and I found it was quicker to just do it the normal way Reddo 18:43, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Welcome

Just my opinion, but may be you should add a link to the the town hall in the welcome template. Erwin Springer [talk] 00:25, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Episodes in album

I tried to apply {{Episodes for this album}} template on the Novacom Collection, because I created this category, but only about 12 of the episodes came up. Erwin Springer [talk] 12:43, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Check.svg Done Reddo 15:40, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
They still don't sort by episode number correctly though. Erwin Springer [talk] 21:04, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
I'm not sure but i think it's related to using the {{!}} in the album field, you could try changing it to be Novacom Saga (collection)|Novacom Saga|ep num I'll look into it later tonight after I'm done some of my homework or if you have time you can try it now, just replace ep num with the actual episode number. I think that there should be a fairly easy way to change to infobox so that we can avoid this sort of thing though, I'll try and look into that later this week Reddo 21:12, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Delete

I was simplifing the themes and have elminated many categories. The list of pages here can be deleted. Erwin Springer [talk] 00:30, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Schedule

Do you have a spreadsheet of all of the "schedule archives"? If so, could you use you bot to do Schedule pages? Also, when it says: NEW EPISODE! on AIOHQ, should we put those in the schedule pages? Erwin Springer [talk] 23:20, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

I don't have a spreadsheet with all of the archives but i could make one without too much trouble, I'm not sure if I can do anything like that, I've never tried it but i have an idea, also I've been putting the new episode in the calendar part, it doesn't make a big difference for old episodes but for future ones it does Reddo 23:45, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Schedule

I think these are the remaining pages that need work be it just brackets or an episode:

Erwin Springer [talk] 13:19, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Jan 04 needs to be redone, aiohq has an error and the jan 04 page is really a duplicate of the page for jan 05, the correct info is available on the scoop,
Dec 05 needs to be redone as well, not sure what happened, correct info is available on aiohq Check.svg Done (Erwin Springer [talk] 18:19, 8 April 2009 (UTC))
6 episodes missing from summer of 04, they can be found on dave's aio site Check.svg Done (Erwin Springer [talk] 20:54, 7 April 2009 (UTC))
I'll try to get to these sometime tonight/this afternoon Reddo 19:21, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Besides errors with episode mispellings and BTV episodes, are the schedule pages completed? Erwin Springer [talk] 18:29, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
yes other than a few spelling things here and there the schedule pages are now done! :) Reddo 18:30, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
