The Timothy Center Effect is a term coined by the AIO team and first mentioned by writer Marshal Younger on Official Podcast 66. It refers to the phenomenon where the AIO writers experiment in creating a new concept or device in the show but later abandon further plans to develop it. These creations presumably continue to exist, but are often never mentioned on the show again. The Timothy Center is the prime example of this. It was originally created to expand the scope of AIO and explore more urban issues, but eventually faded away because of the writers' lack of expertise in that area. There are numerous other examples of this phenomenon.
