[edit] Summary
Rodney Rathbone's camera has been stolen at Whit's End and he hires Harlow Doyle to try and find the dirty culprit.
[edit] Plot
Harlow Doyle is on the case! Rodney Rathbone has had a camera stolen, and he thinks someone from Whit’s End took it. It all started when he took his friend Denver to Whit’s End to enter him in the Bible Bowl. Rodney set his camera down for a couple of minutes to go sign Denver up, and when Rodney came back, it was gone.
Harlow examines the facts and turns up nothing. Just as he’s about to give up, Denver bursts in, conscience-stricken. He confesses that the whole thing is a setup: Rodney needs the camera back because he took pictures of the answers to give Denver so he could win the Bible Bowl! But Denver says he has been studying. He thinks he has a good chance without the pictures! Lucy, who is organizing the contest, decides to give Denver a shot, and he actually wins without cheating!
Or does he? While giving Denver his award, Whit mentions a well-known Bible verse, which Denver doesn’t seem to know. Whit is also concerned that the camera hasn’t turned up, which means there is still a thief on the loose. Denver is happy, though. He gets his picture in the paper for winning the contest, and he and Rodney plan to use the prize to enjoy themselves at Water World.
Later, during a visit to a nearby shop, Harlow Doyle learns that a roll of film has been dropped off there by Rodney Rathbone to be developed. Harlow puts two and two together and realizes that Rodney dropped off the film after the camera had been stolen! How was that possible?
Whit and Harlow get to the bottom of it. They discover that . . . well, we won’t give away the ending, but you can be sure that the thief is caught, punishment is meted out, and Odyssey returns back to normal.

- Why did Rodney and Denver think they could pull a fast one on Lucy and Harlow?
- Why didn’t Lucy believe Rodney and Denver?
- Read Numbers 32:2
- Have you ever tried to hide your sin? Did it “find you out”?

[edit] Notes
- This episode was made into an AIO Activity Pack, The Harlow Doyle Mystery Files, Volume 2.
- One of very few shows that does not have Whit, Eugene, Connie or any other main character. Lucy is the largest character in the show with about 60 shows to her credit
- It's possible that the title of this show is borrowed from the TV show "Candid Camera", popular in the 90's.

[edit] Quotes
That’s the way a lot of crimes are. You put out twice the effort to get half the results than you would have gotten if you’d just have put out half the effort to get twice the results from the effort you put in.
Wha??
Uh, Crime doesn’t pay.
