Michael Butler used to work at Gower's Florist Shop. He is a expert botanist and created beautiful new flowers. He created a hybrid black rose known as the "Jilted".

When Michael was 19, he met and fell in love with a girl named Wendy, who was 18. But Wendy's parents forbade her to see Michael ever. But through Wendy's little sister, they keep in touch by letter. Michael wanted Wendy to run away and elope with him, but Wendy refused.

Michael went to Chicago for a few years and then came back to Connellsville.

Michael is about 53 years old as of 2024.
