Everett was the childhood friend of Alvin York. Like a younger Alvin he had a tendency to drink. Though not specifically stated he had a tendency to lust after women. Also he was extremely rowdy, especially when he drank. He had a bad habit of not only gambling but cheating as well.

History

Everett was the childhood friend of Alvin York. The two often drank together and gambled together. He also had a tendency to cheat – which ultimately proved to be his downfall during a game of poker. When the same men that accused Everett of cheating also accused Alvin of cheating, a fight ensued and a man named Frank threw their game table, hitting Everett in the head and killing him. Everett's death pushed Alvin to give his life to Jesus and reform his ways, becoming a Godly man.
