Heroes is the 3rdAdventures in Odysseymainstream album, previously released as Secrets, Surprises, and Sensational Stories. It was released in 2004. Its episodes began airing on the radio starting on April 2, 1988 and finished on December 24, 1988.
The kids from Odyssey manage to get themselves into – and out of – all kinds of interesting predicaments in these audio adventures. Rumor has it that the new family in town is connected to the Mafia, Odyssey Elementary School is troubled with bullies and Lucy struggles with telling a secret she vowed to keep. With a little prodding from Mr. Whittaker, they learn how God can help them deal with anything.

Early copies of the Gold Audio release had a glaring typo.
Heroes was first released as Secrets, Surprises, and Sensational Stories. This original release was the second in a series of seven alliteratively-named cassette albums. In its Gold Audio Series release, the album was re-titled Heroes and was available on cassette and CD. Very early copies of the Gold Audio release have the title of album misspelled as "Heros."
Jimmy Barclay looks up to Melvin (Lightning) Livingston, the star basketball player. When Lighting is accused of using drugs, Jimmy stands up for him but doesn't know what the truth is.
Whit tells a group of friends about how he became a Christian. When he was young, his stepmother was in a horrible accident which left her blind. Through God's love, she was able to cope and show Whit the meaning of faith.
Connie encounters old friends who remind her of how different she was before coming to Odyssey. Meanwhile, Eugene Meltsner starts working at Whit's End and promptly changes how the shop works.
The Barclays forget the true meaning of Christmas.
