The Wildest Summer Ever is the 2nd Adventures in Odyssey mainstream album, previously released as Grins, Grabbers, and Great Getaways and Stormy Weather. It was released in 2003. Its episodes began airing on the radio starting on June 18, 1988 and finished on September 3, 1988.

Description

Usually sunny Odyssey is hit by a downpour of disasters - from a tornado, to a turbulent voyage with Jonah. Will Connie, Jack, Lucy and the Barclays ride out the storms? One thing's certain: the climate is always right for learning priceless lessons, rain or shine.
Sunny and mild little Odyssey is about to get hit by a downpour of disasters. From a violent tornado to a blowout visit with Jonah, the climate is always right for learning lessons through the trials.

History

The Wildest Summer Ever was originally released as a under the title Grins, Grabbers, and Great Getaways in 1988. It was released after the Odyssey USA album, making it the second Adventures in Odyssey album to be released. It was only available on cassette until it was re-released as part of the Gold Audio Series. This release was titled Stormy Weather, borrowing its title from the episode of the same name. The gold audio version was released on CD and cassette and contained several bonus features.

As part of a re-branding process that occurred in the early 2010s, the album was repackaged again as The Wildest Summer Ever. The current album includes artwork by Gary Locke.

As each episode is consecutive in order, The Wildest Summer Ever is the first thematic album.

Bonus Features

  • Behind-the-Scenes insert with episode guide, fun facts, and more.
  • How the Barclays got their names
  • Chris answers your questions.
  • The creation of KYDS Radio
  • A collection of great sound moments from the show
