Bible Verses

What translation should be used for the Bible verse in the infobox? Erwin Springer 22:30, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

the links that we've been using that lead to bible gateway all have the NIV translation I think that we should use the same now Reddo 22:49, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
The new King James version is linked to when I click one of the links? Erwin Springer 23:07, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
Which one? I think we should use NIV. Spiderman 23:39, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
On Bible Gateway, there's "Today's New International Version" and "New International Version - UK" but not "New International Version". Erwin Springer 02:07, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
"New International Version" version is there, it is the first one underneath the english section. Reddo 02:22, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. I guess I didn't look hard enough! Erwin Springer 02:24, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
The theme on Recollections has something wrong with it? Erwin Springer 22:04, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
there was a small typo made in the latest change to the episode infobox, it has been corrected but due to the large number of pages the template is used on it takes our server a while to update all the pages, if you look on the Special:Statistics page there is a number beside the job queue, this is how many more processes the server has to run before it gets caught up to all the edits made, when this number gets to 0, probably in an hour or so, everything should appear correct again Reddo 22:10, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
Okay Erwin Springer 22:30, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Infobox for Albums

So Erwin Springer made an infobox for albums here. I think that it should include both the original artwork, and the back album artwork. I have so many thoughts on this so I would like you guys's as well. I would say that it should have not the name of the next and previous albums, but the image, linking to the albums. I looked into this, and I can't really figure out how to do that (help?). The other thought that I had was that on the Sandbox Album that I made, it has a big line across the top of the page, which I don't know how to fix. The other thing about that album is that I can't get the images of the original and back artwork to go side by side. One last thing that kind of goes with what I mentioned earlier; the original and back artwork both look kind of like it's the artwork for the albums that are above them. That's why I thought that we should have the images for those.

NateDude24 December 29, 2008

I was thinking that it would be cool to have the list of episodes in the infobox. Erwin Springer 14:09, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I thought of that too; but then what would we put in the actual page. As it is now; we wouldn't have enough information, so the infobox would be like super long and otherwise, there wouldn't be any more info. NateDude24
You're probably right Erwin Springer 15:44, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
I made some changes to the Sandbox Album page. Spiderman 16:56, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
I really like that design. If we could make all the albums like that some day, it would be incredible! Erwin Springer 17:02, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Not to say that I know how, but mabey even make it a different colour and stretch it across the whole page. NateDude24
That looks terrific! How do we go about implementing it? Rachel Maxwell 23:51, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
I made a couple of more changes. Let me know what you guys think. Spiderman 03:10, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
I think it looks marvelous!Rachel Maxwell 04:29, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
Is there anyway you can center the bar on top (with the album names), so it's not just on the left margin? Other than that it looks great! Erwin Springer 14:25, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
Wow, I really like what everybody came up with, I did some minor tweaking to the sandbox page, mostly to do with the ratings, they should all appear properly now Reddo 09:56, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
It looks like Spiderman put the template on album 01. I put it Album 02. Erwin Springer 22:15, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Family Portraits

This really unreleated to the wiki, but after my google search of focus on the family adventures in odyssey "family portraits" album, I found this result. It is undoubtably the Album: Family Portraits! The catolouge is for a church library in Texas. Here is there site. They probably wouldn't want someone e-mailing them and saying , that they want to take buy album! I just wanted to share this, in case, by some slim chance that someone live near here. Erwin Springer 02:12, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

If you just want you can listen to them here Spiderman 18:50, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
I have seen this site before, But isn't that infringing FOTF's copyright?? Erwin Springer 19:08, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
Since Focus wouldn't be making any money off of it anyways, I don't think so. Not really sure... Rachel Maxwell 06:35, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
The question of it is legal depends on where you live, (eg. in Canada it is illegal to upload them but not illegal to download them) Focus does not approve of this but so far they haven't told him to stop. Reddo 20:43, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Orginal Tape Albums

If you go over to the "Category:Orginal Tape Albums" (found in the albums catogorey), you'll see the orginal tape albums. I have found out that albums 2-9, there is an alternative album art, that was the orginal release for these albums (look on Album 04: Puns, Parables, and Perilous Predicaments). Since that would create 4 images on each of those pages (5 on Album 02: Grins, Grabbers, and Great Getaways). Would it be better to make a gallery of these pictures instead of putting them on the right column? Erwin Springer 21:07, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

If you mean a gallery on the album page that sounds great. you can go ahead and do that Spiderman 18:50, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
I did do this. It'll fit in when we start using the album infobox. Erwin Springer 21:09, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Character Pages

Are chracrter pages are we supposed to list episodes with the template (like on the Whit page), or list the epiosdes manually, (like on the Connie page)? Erwin Springer 00:32, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

I think the plan was to use the template since it automatically updates but I don't think it's necessary to put a list on the character page because we have categories with all the episodes of each character. you can get to them by clicking the number of episodes in the character infobox Spiderman 18:50, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Watch on YouTube

YouTube has some of the AIO videos avalible, so does everybody think that it would be good if we had a link such as the one that we have for episodes? --NateDude24

If I'm understanding this right it's that some of the video series is online? If so I don't think we should as that's a copyright infringement and I doubt FOTF would approve of it. If your talking about some interviews and behind the scenes things that are available then I think we should, infact I think there is even an extension that allows you to embed youtube videos into a mediawiki page, I'm still on vacation and I don't really have time to look into the videos or the extension now but I will when I get back next weekend Reddo 06:44, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
I definitely understand your point of view. Yes they do have full length videos of the video series avalible. For as cool as it may seem, it is probably illegal. I flagged the videos, so soon they souldn't show up anymore. NateDude24
embedded videos would be neat! Spiderman 18:50, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
I'm sure I've seen some Behind the Scenes videos on there -- could we embed those?? Rachel Maxwell 06:30, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
K, I'll also install this extension tonight, Reddo 20:47, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
I installed the extension, to use it just put <youtube v="YouTubeID" /> Reddo 06:40, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Images

I'm confused about uploading images. I've uploaded quite a few, but is it alright to upload album pictures from the Odyssey Library? Erwin Springer 01:08, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Do you want to know how to, or if you're "allowed"? If you want to know how to than I'd be glad to tell you. --NateDude24
I mean "allowed". To access them and save them, you have to follow the link of the file (you can't right click and select save as) Erwin Springer 23:58, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
No. They will not "allow" you to download images...... BUT you can actually save them fairly easy. Using "Print Screen" (see here). If you'rre running on a Windows, than your keyboard should have a button in the upper right hand corner that says "Print Screen". Once you click this button, whatever view that was being currently viewed on your screen, will be copied to the clipboard. To actually save it, you must paste it to a photo editing software (e.g. Photoshop, or Microsoft Paint), and cut out whatever you want.
I know It sounds complicated, but it gets the job done, even though it was very selfish of the AIO Library peeps to hog such good pictures to themselves. I've encountered this problem before, so I know from experience. Like I said in a previous discussion, I would be more than happy to cut out pictures, such as the ones from the Odyssey Library. So if you don't want to deal with Paint, or whatever it may be, just ask me and I'll "come to the rescue". --NateDude24
I know of the print screen method (I run win Vista), but I use a different method. If you follow this link http://www.aiolib.com/images/collectionfronts/collectionfrontcassette_sp20.jpg it takes you directly to the picture were you can copy it at full resolution! The "sp" in the address stands for special. If you hover over an album on the site you will see (at least in internet explorer) a link in the lower left hand cornere, and if you type it in, you have the picture. Look at the picture I uploaded on the right.
File:Aiolib.png
Look at this NateDude24
we should be careful about images that we take from aiolib, as some of them he has created himself for use on his site only, but things like album art are no problem. Reddo 00:09, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
On several episode pages including Karen, for example. They are the pictures from the aiolib. There shouldn't be a problem with this, however, because these pictures are from albums. Erwin Springer 00:55, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

On the Inventions page, NateDude24 uploaded this, Invention.jpg picture, which is fine, but it looks like it's from the official guide. Is that legal? Just wondering Erwin Springer 14:11, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Episodes without an album

In Episodes without an album there is no album picture, such as BTV: Grace. Wouldn't it be better to put a picture, like this one,Not.png

Not.png

, on those pages? Erwin Springer 00:37, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

I have put this image on the Episodes without an album in the album image spot. If anyone has a better inage please upload it as an updated picture. Erwin Springer 20:35, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
thanks, it looks good, I've been meaning to do something like this for a while, but university has kept me busy lately. Reddo 21:12, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
I am giving a couple of other colorful options:

I personally like the blue one a bit better though. If anybody wants, I could upload other color options. Or we could just stick with one of these. After it's decided, I'll "upload a new version" of the one that is decided upon. -- NateDude24
I like the blue best too. Erwin Springer 00:25, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
I also think that the blue one looks better, though I kind of like the size of the words from the purple one Reddo 02:12, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
So then do you want me to blow up the words on the blue one and upload a new version? Or is it fine the way it is? --NateDued24
I would be nice if you could upload a variety of versions. I really like you're design. If you could create an orange version, It would match the infobox. Erwin Springer 03:11, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Should we start putting these in the episode infobox? Peachey Keen 00:43, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
I would say no, just because primarily, what episodes are you referring to, because Erwin Springer has already done what I think that you're saying. --NateDude24
No offense Spiderman, but the version that you made and uploaded a new version of, looks very big and bulky. I know that we want it rather large, so that it is readable at approx. 200px, but it just doesn't look very good in my opinion. I will try to get around to uploading an alternate version with larger text, but for now I'm going to revert it back to the original version. --NateDude24
Can the text be a color besides yellow? It hurts my eyes. Rachel Maxwell 06:38, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
I would be glad to make it another color, but what color. The only reason that I mad it yellow, is that It is the colour of the border thing. (obviously not the blue, but the yellow part) I'llupload a new version of the blue one including: Larger text and whatever colour you want. --NateDude24
I think maybe whatever color the Big border is (blue or whatever) would look alright. Rachel Maxwell 22:47, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
I really like this one, Not.png that NateDude24 uploaded. Erwin Springer 02:07, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

listen to links

I redid how all of the listen to links currently work, now instead of it being based off of the listen parameter it is now based off of how long it has been since the last time it aired from the last month, last day and last year, parameters from the infobox, it should make it easier to keep the list of currently airing episodes updated, if you see anything wrong with the changes or have any questions let me know Reddo 20:09, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

episodes in multiple albums

I created a template to make a consistent way of stating when an album is in 2 or more albums. To use it put

{{Also in|name of collection |text you want to be displayed|type of collection}}

In the notes section of the episode page. The name of the collection should be the name of the page we have about it, and the type of collection should be collection, single cd episode or something along those lines. This may not seem like much but this will allow us to create something similar to this but for album pages reddo 19:13, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

I think that's a good idea to use someting like this. Erwin Springer 21:41, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Couldn't we just put another line in the infobox for additional albums? Spiderman 18:50, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
Wouldn't that get a bit long in some cases? I'm not complaining, just wondering how that would look and where we would put it. Rachel Maxwell 23:55, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Bangs head againts wall why didn't I think of that? It makes a lot more send that what I was going to do, and it's easier, I made the changes to the infobox to make use of it, Reddo 02:57, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm really confused! Do we put multiple albums in the infobox now? Erwin Springer 13:21, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Bible Stories

On this page it looks like Spiderman put a tag on the top. I made many revisions and I beleive the tag isn't needed Erwin Springer 16:23, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

I'll remove the tag Spiderman 18:50, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
I could have just removed it, but I think It said Do Not Remove. And I'm a relative new comer to the wiki Erwin Springer 19:10, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

schedule pages

I've been thinking that we need a better way of formating the pages, I was thinking it would be nice to display it in a format similar to the way a calendar looks but I haven't started anything yet, I was wondering if there are any suggestions of what others would like to see. Reddo 01:54, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

I came up with a start, you can see it here, the code behind it looks pretty bad right now but don't worry about that I'll clean it up after we decide on a design Reddo 02:20, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

I like the calendar idea and the look, but I kinda think the summaryis unnecessary. What you think? Rachel Maxwell
I removed the episode summaries, this would certainly make it easier to code, but I think this makes it look a little to bare, you can see what it looks like here, another idea I had can be seen here, although I'm not sure if I like the way that it looks Reddo 21:00, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Could you put a picture of the album cover on the calender and when you would click on it, it would take you to that album? Erwin Springer 22:03, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
We can but where would we put the picture of the album cover? Reddo 23:28, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
I played around with it a bit and came up with this this, the album covers don't link to the album page yet but that can be fixed later. Reddo 00:42, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
I was thinking that you could inside the boxes similar to what you did with the summeries orginally. Erwin Springer 02:04, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
I made the images link to the album page and not the image page, I also added the covers to inside the box to see what it would look like and I think that it looks better without, it's just to repetitive Reddo 07:48, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
It's alright, but besides repetitive, it's somehow difficult to read. I dunno, I'm going to think on it. I liked the collapsible calendar, really. But when the calendar comes down, it's hard to read; like a book with print too small. Maybe if we made the boxes squarer, like a real calendar? Here's a mildly interesting idea: We do make a real calendar: at least it looks like one, and slap an AIO picture at the top. Sort of like Focus did with that AIO calendar, except we would have the episodes which were airing, maybe with other interesting AIO things. (Such as: End of Hiatus, or Recording Date -- if anyone would care to share them -- or Eugene's birthday, or whatever). Thoughts? Rachel Maxwell 06:42, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
I like this one. Spiderman 18:50, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

I started work on a template to simplify making a calendar idea, here is what I came up with so far {calendar |days=31 |start=mon |month = 12 |year = 2008 |25=Merry Christmas }} and to make it all you need is these few lines of code

{{calendar
|days=31
|start=mon
|month = 12
|year = 2008
|25='''''Merry Christmas'''''
}}

to add an event to any day just change 25 and merry christmas with the day number and name of the event, everything else should be fairly obvious of what it does.
So far it only works for mondays, I'd like to make sure we agree on a design before I do the other days Reddo 06:50, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

I think it is a very good design. TheAE talk 07:18, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
I added the catogory to the template. Erwin Springer 14:59, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

episode infobox

Spiderman designed a new version of the episode infobox, the new version can be seen here compared to the current version. I think it looks better but the real benefit is that the new version has a nice place for our new polling system to go. Thoughts on this Reddo 20:25, 5 December 2008 (UTC

As usual, terrific. Rachel Maxwell
It looks great! Peachey Keen 22:24, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Like you said, I think that it looks much better than the current version. The voting place is awesome too. -- NateDude24
K, tomorrow (Wednesday) after my final I'll double check all the code and make sure all the functionality is there and that it looks right in most popular internet browsers and then change it over Reddo 05:58, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
I made the changes, let me know if you see any problems Reddo 20:31, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
I really like the new infobox! It looks a lot cleaner. Erwin Springer 22:05, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Should the old polls be deleted, mow that there is a new system? Erwin Springer 22:22, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, don't worry about doing it yourself though, I got it taken care of with reddobot Reddo 22:51, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
The old polls are still there??? Erwin Springer 23:15, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Sorry about that I started taking them off I got to about episode 100 but there was something slowing the bot down, I would get it to edit 30 pages, then something (internet connection, firefox, something on the server side of things) would freeze up, I would stop the bot and it would take about 20-30 minutes before it would catch up and start working again, this went on for about an hour and a half before I gave up for the night. I'm planning on looking into the problems this weekend once my exams are done, but if you have time and want to remove the polls I think I stopped at ep. 101 Scattered Seeds Reddo 02:29, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
I think I finished removing all the polls, the episode list that I used was a bit old so there will be some episodes that still have them, but I'm planning on going through all episode pages manually and i'll make sure that they get removed then reddo 22:32, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Cool! Erwin Springer 22:58, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

On the sandbox episode, I moved the general section into the infobox as I thought that the general section looked kind of bare by itself, i also added a collapsible table that has the bible verse, this comes from the new Bible Verse namespace, It was just some ideas that I had while driving home last night, I don't want to change anything this big without input from other people on it, I'm leaving again tonight for another week, but feel free to discuss and play around with it and I'll catchup when I get back Reddo 19:24, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

I love that change! the general info section was really small and it looks much better in the infobox. is there any way for a script to automatically move everything into the infobox or do we need to do it manually? Spiderman 18:50, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
It's wonderful! Everything is so easy to see and read and get to -- I especially adore the collapsible scripture verse. That's marvelous. I say we implement it with little further ado. --Rachel Maxwell 06:28, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
I implemented the changes into the episode infobox. Theme, genre, and scripture can now be put into the infobox on any episode page. Spiderman 16:56, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
So we have to do it manually? What exactly do I need to do? Rachel Maxwell 23:53, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Unless somebody else around here knows how to write bots, we're going to have to do it manually, I only know how to create/replace/delete sections or pages, not merging 2 of them. I'll see if I can find anything but I wouldn't hold my breath for it to happen Reddo 20:53, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Album Art Changes

I was thinking that on the sidebar of all the albums that are included in the album art changes, we should say something like:

This album is included in the Album art changes

--NateDude24

Good Idea Erwin Springer 19:36, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
i don't really see the point in this, all that page has is a comparison between the 2 different covers and and both of those are already included on the album page in a much larger version. Reddo 19:43, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
I always thought that one of the main prurposes of using MediaWiki was to link to other pages as much as possible and explain everything fully. Adding that link, in my opinion, is a good idea. Erwin Springer 20:04, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Yeah I see your point, but I'm not sure if the sidebar is the right place for it, as on all other pages it is used to display links to pages on other AIO sites not pages on our wiki, I was also thinking that we need a to make a new version of the album page, Maybe something like this:
Name Released Theme Rating Art
50: The Best Small Town August 2008 Friendship, Truth and More permalink=Adventures in Odyssey Wiki:Town Hall/Archive6 }}
Old Album Cover New Album Cover
It's time for the annual "Best Small Town in America" national competition, and Odyssey's in the running! This special occasion brings together a hometown reunion of long-lost friends, like Jimmy Barcley, Lucy Cunningham-Shultz, and Edwin Blackgaard. But who knows how far everyone will go to take the title? Your family won't want to miss these stories with old-fashioned fun!
I also think we should also make an infobox for album pages, with things like number of epiosdes, run time, rating, first release date, re-release date (if applicable), album cover artist ect. somewhere in this infobox would probably be a good place to link to either this new album page or the current Album art changes. Reddo 21:38, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Do you mean a redisgn for the album catogorey? I thought about an album infobox just the other day, because the album art is just sitting on the page and sometimes the formmating is incorrect. Also, it would probably be good create an updated version of the infobox for books and videos to match the new episode one. Erwin Springer 21:50, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Infobox for places in Odyssey

I think that we should create an infobox for places in Odyssey. (specifically, Whit's End) I would definitely do it myself, but I don't know how. So how do you? I'll look into it, but it would be easier if somebody told me. NateDude24

I think this is a good idea too. I don't know how to create templates either. I think you're on the right track... Erwin Springer 23:29, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
I Think I fixed your infobox. Erwin Springer 00:09, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Ok so when you (Erwin Springer) made changes to make the code to look more like the other infoboxes, it made look like it does currently. I think that I'll revert it back to the way that it was, unless you want to make the changes that need to be made. I'll try making the changes, but I'd prefer to revert it. NateDude24
So I need help with making the Whit's End (Connelsville) page. I'll try to look for some info, but it would be nice if I had some help. NateDude24
I'm really sorry if I did something wrong. It just looked weird on the Whit's End page... Erwin Springer 14:07, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Documentation

I put in place a system for documentation of templates. To use it put

<noinclude>{{Doc}}</noinclude>

on a template page at the bottom. Then save it and click the edit link on the page that was added, not on the top of the page, and you can add documentation. Let me know what you think. Erwin Springer [talk] 02:37, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Featured Article

I found this picture, and this page. Is this an old thing that used to be done. Erwin Springer [talk] 22:58, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

When the wiki was started in May of 07, the first thing that the people who set it up was to copy some of the common templates/policies/help guides and paste them in here, even if it didn't really have a use, this was one of the things that was copied over, I think the original plan was that after the wiki was larger and more complete we would start using it Reddo 09:20, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Could we try something like this? Erwin Springer [talk] 14:22, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
we could, it would require quite a bit of work to decide how long each article should be featured, the requirements to be considered a featured article (do we even have anything worthy of this yet), how to elect the next one, and how we would display / nominate it
Good point. Erwin Springer [talk] 16:29, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

'Crazy' Eddie

I tried to put the Character Information Infobox on 'Crazy' Eddie page, but it always says Internal error Erwin Springer 23:07, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Is there something wrong with the character infobox? It was messing up with me when I tried to do the Mark Horton page. Rachel Maxwell
I'm not noticing anything weird about it now, mediawiki is written for free so it can be a little buggy sometimes, and I think I know what's going on with the mark horton page, I should be able to fix that later tonight too. Reddo 20:34, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
I tried to put this text
{{Infobox Character Information
| actor = Walker Edmiston
}}
[[Leslie]]'s crazy bus driver.
==Episodes==
{{Character episodes by actor/1|Walker Edmiston}}
on the page and It keeps telling me internal error.Erwin Springer 21:07, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
This time, I got this message: "Set $wgShowExceptionDetails = true; at the bottom of LocalSettings.php to show detailed debugging information." Erwin Springer 21:11, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
I think it might have something to do with the ' in the title kind of like how the & sign messes up the title but I'm not sure, I'll look into it tonight Reddo 21:16, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
I think I fixed the problem on the mark horton page, unless there is something else that i missed, and I think the crazy eddie problem can be fixed by changing it to "Crazy" Eddie Reddo 09:34, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
I put the info there, but it dosent's find the character from Back to School | Erwin Springer 15:17, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
I too am guessing it has to do with ' being in the title. Two of them, '', makes things italic, so if you write '', with the page title having a ' in it, it would make three and break software. Anyways, two quotes is the correct title, as it "crazy." TheAE talk 23:34, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
The problem is that if you look at "Crazy" Eddie it doesn't find the episodes in the infobox. The character only appears in Back to School. Erwin Springer 22:06, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
I think it has something to do with the " in the page name, i worked around it by using a new field in the infobox called name and I just put "Crazy" Eddie in it, it shouldn't make any difference but it's fixed now, Reddo 06:05, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. You can archive this discussion. Erwin Springer [talk] 21:50, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
I take that back. If you look here, something is wrong with the template. Erwin Springer [talk] 21:59, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
I reverted all the edits so someone could fix it. Erwin Springer [talk] 22:14, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
I think I fixed the problem with the infobox. I moved the "Crazy" Eddie page to Crazy Eddie. Erwin Springer [talk] 00:04, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

(reindent) I think I found a way that we can get around this problem but it is probably best if we just stick to avoiding weird character in page names Reddo 16:28, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

AIO on Wikipedia

We have to do something to improve the AIO article on Wikipedia or it's going to be deleted!

I highly doubt that. I just added nine good sources, so I doubt it will be deleted. However, it does need a lot of work. I also want to notify every here of this deletion discussion, it could decide the fake of a lot of things AIO-related. God bless, TheAE talk 03:33, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

gadgets

I installed the gadget extension this morning, along with some gadgets that I thought looked interesting/useful to access them go the gadget tab in your Special:Preferences and add the ones that you want, you may need to clear your cache to see the changes, if you want a gadget add, let any admin know and they can add it Reddo 16:51, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

here is a list of some of the gadgets that wikipedia has can be found here, it should give some idea of what we can do. Reddo 21:38, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

spelling error

Heads up!! In the latest news article it says "see here for compete details" sould probably be compLete details. Just thought I'd let you know. Dr. Bluegaard 00:58, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

It looks like reddo fixed it already Erwin Springer [talk] 01:42, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
Just so you know the latest news template can be edited. Erwin Springer [talk] 01:51, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
Oh thanks, I didn't know that.! Dr. Bluegaard 01:45, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for pointing that out, I'm kind of the opposite of you, when it comes to spelling and grammar I'm not the best, (though when I notice a mistake, it really bothers me) but when it comes to mediawiki language I know my way around. Reddo 03:31, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, glad there's some way I can help! Dr. Bluegaard 23:40, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Infobox for Cast

I think that we need to create an infobox for the cast members.

Another thing that might be beneficial, is creating pages for as many characters that are listed in episodes. Along with that, I think that we should add the character portrait picture into the infobox of characters. It would be very simple, just cutting out the head picture. --NateDude24

we already have an infobox for cast members, due to the large number of FOTF staff members that also are cast, I combined them into one staff infobox that will change based on the number of articles in categories that correspond to what that person has done, you can see what I'm talking about in Christopher Snell and Nathan Hoobler. The template needs some work to make it look better, like putting a picture in the infobox, but it works for now.
about the characters we've slowly been making the pages, but until now our main concern was making the episode pages and getting them all up to standard, I agree with you about putting the character picture in the infobox aswell, it would make our site look more uniform if all the infobox's (episode, character, book, video, staff, and album (not created yet) ) followed the same form Reddo 00:06, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
I deffinately agree with you in making all of the infoboxes the same style. --NateDude24
Seconded. And possibilities now arise in harassing Focus to make drawings of all main characters. Rachel Maxwell 06:34, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
If you're saying what I think that you're saying, than that would be awesome. Are you saying that Focus on the Family would give us pictures of the main characters? How would we go about that? Not that it would make any difference I think, but I live in Colorado; where Focus is based. So anyway. --NateDude24
I have a contact inside FOTF (he's the one that sends us the cover art in advance), and I'll send him an e-mail asking for images of characters Reddo 18:39, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
Hooray for contacts! Rachel Maxwell 22:50, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
That would be pretty awesome. --NateDude24
I sent him an e-mail but he's on vacation right now he'll be back early next year Reddo 06:39, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
How would you put a character's portrait in the infobox? Such as this one:
Donnaportrait.png
I don't think we've incorperated that into the infobox yet. Erwin Springer 22:44, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
There's a variable called "image". Erwin Springer [talk] 21:59, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

I did some fixing on this template, everything should work properly now, let me know if you see any issues Reddo 16:29, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
