Italisizing episode names

Hey, guys, this seems to be a commom problem here at the wiki, so I am going to make an official announcement. According to proper grammar, episode names are not supposed to be italisized. Thy're supposed to have quotation marks around them. If you don't believe me, check the Official Guide. They don't italisize episode names in there, they put quotation markes around them. MarvelousMarvin 13:48, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

I had the idea a little while ago to create a template just for linking to episodes, so we could create a standard style. (Such as {{ep}}.) Erwin Springer [talk] 01:09, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
That's a great idea! MarvelousMarvin 17:16, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
So the code would look like {{Ep|Connie Comes to Town}} producing the link #4: “Connie Comes to Town”? I don't see any quotation marks... Are there any variables? Maybe we should create a template for linking to albums as well? To give everything a standard look. — Eugene [talk] 19:48, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
When I created that template, I didn't know that episodes should actually haves quotes surrounding them. I added them, but I think it would nice if we could create our own style of linking. Erwin Springer [talk] 00:20, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
I really like the idea of doing the template. I am okay with simply linking to the episode page and not putting the quotes surrounding the the link as long as we don't italisze the episode names. Italisizing is for album names, not episodes. And I think that if we're going to use this template for linking to episodes, the font of the text needs to be the same size as every other kind of text--I don't like it smaller. If Erwin wants to do our own style of linking, I guess that's alright, depending on what the style was. MarvelousMarvin 03:47, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
Not to be picky, but I'm pretty sure it's spelled 'italicize'. Since we're talking about it. :) Rachel Maxwell 03:41, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Well, you can tell that I'm not getting a degree in grammar and spelling anytime soon! :) But yes, you are right; I knew I probably wasn't spelling it right--but I didn't really feel like going and looking it up. Thanks for the correction. :) MarvelousMarvin 04:50, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Do we want to have the episode number with every episode link? Can we also make it regular sized text? — Eugene [talk] 02:50, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Sure, I don't see why not. I don't like the fact that the link is all in bright blue bold--I'd like the regular text better. Other than that I like it. MarvelousMarvin 18:22, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
I changed the color of the link to red just to try a different style. We don't have to use it, but I think it would be beneficial if all of our episode links were the same and easily recognizable. Erwin Springer [talk] 03:09, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
I don't think that the colour of the link should be red since that generally indicates that the link leads to a page that does not yet exist. So, I changed it to a nice shade of orange. But I still think that the default blue would be best. Thoughts? — Eugene [talk] 03:55, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
I think the blue looks a lot better. I guess I don't like change! Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 03:19, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
I agree with Stop Wooton' Around. I liked the blue. I guess I don't like change either! --AriaCurzonFan 07:29, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
I changed the link color back to the default wikipedia blue. I left the orange color commented out. Proverbs 22:9 Elementus Green 16:34, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
If the {{ep|}} template is used to link to a non-existing page (i.e. “The Last in a Long Line” instead of #157: “ Last in a Long Line”), then only the quotes show up as red, since we are hard-coding the color. If you try to include the number in a non-existing page it becomes very ugly and obvious that SOMETHING is wrong: “ The Last in a Long Line”. I don't think there's really a situation where we would want to be linking to a non-existant episode page, but it seems like this is an area of improvement for the {{ep|}} template. Thoughts? Proverbs 22:9 Elementus Green 19:22, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
Fixed. Erwin Springer [talk] 21:08, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
So, the number problem is fixed, but is it possible to make it show up as red if the page doesn't exist? I think it would help people catch mistakes. Proverbs 22:9 Elementus Green 21:23, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Done; see Template:Ep/sandbox for the current styles. Do we want to make the episode number appear by default? Erwin Springer [talk] 21:34, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

I think that the number should be an option that has to be turned on, like it is now. — Eugene [talk] 01:45, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

CBD preveiws

On CBD, I see that they have mini-previews of all the albums. I don't know much about copyright, but is there any way that could be put on the episode page that the preview comes from? --AriaCurzonFan 20:28, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

I don't think that we should use those, they don't seem to be much of a preview for the album, just the opening scene of an episode Reddo 17:25, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Album 52 episodes

On Wikipedia someone wrote a list of the album 52 episodes. I don't know if the order is correct, but they don't match up with the episode numbers on this wiki. could someone rearrange the episodes if the list is correct. I'd do it, but I don't know how. --AriaCurzonFan 11:26, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Nope we have the same episode numbers as Wikipedia does. God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 17:25, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
Hey guys, something as happened to the Album 52 page. Not sure what happened.
I know. someone spammed it, but I don't know how to fix it. Proverbs 31:30Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. ~ Aria ~ (talk) 14:36, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

I got rid of all the spam part, however, I don't know how to put it back to its orignal state before it was spammed.

Q&A

I think some of the questions should be moved so that they are grammatically correct. I will do this but I need to have confirmation.

Ex. What color eyes does mitch have? moved to What is Mitch’s eye color? or What eye color does Mitch have? I then could make a redirect for which ever one I didn't move it to. Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 17:21, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

What's with all the influx of questions? I leave for a weekend, then come back and find that there's about two million more questions asked. Who's asking all the questions? MarvelousMarvin 04:08, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
best i can figure it's someone on the eastern coast of the US, not that that really helps Reddo 04:26, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
I'm wondering if it's spam. Some of the question's answers are very easy to find. God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 04:40, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
it's kind of pointless spam if it is, oh well makes us look better with more answers either way Reddo 04:49, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
This is true. God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 04:50, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

A lot of the questions are rather simplistic. Could we put something on his talk like this? Erwin Springer [talk] 21:17, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

== Q & A Questions ==
Although we appreciate it that you are submitting questions, many of them are rather "simple" questions, meaning that can easily be found by searching the wiki instead.
It's not that we don't want your questions, it's that they're time consuming to pour through. Please consider this before asking any more questions.
I think that would be a good idea. Perhaps a short message similar to the one already written should be posted on the Q & A page asking people to please try and find the answer themselves (i.e. using the Guide to Odyssey, the Odyssey Scoop Q & A, or using the search engine on the left) before submiting the question. MarvelousMarvin 01:22, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
I think that the Q&A is easy to access so people don't go looking for the answer when they can just ask a question. Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 14:17, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
I agree, Wooton. There are many ways that this section could backfire on the editors, the biggest way being that the section can take away too much time from the actual editing. If it is okay, I think this message should be posted on Q and A page.
The Q and A is a place where anyone can ask any questions they have relating to anything in the Adventures in Odyssey universe. However, we ask that you would please try and find the answer to your question yourself using the Guide to Odyssey, the Odyssey Scoop Q & A, or using the search engine on the left before submiting the question, as it is very time consuming for the editors to answer tons of questions that are very simple and easy to find the answer to. We will do our best to get you an answer within 24 hours. Also, we ask that you save wiki-related questions for the Town Hall and please do not use this page for help with ToO contests.
I think that we could make a link to Special:Search in that explanation... since "to the left" might be confusing, and we're linking to the other sources. Proverbs 22:9A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor. Elementus Green 19:21, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
We can also embed the search bar into the page, if necessary. Erwin Springer [talk] 02:15, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
I really like that idea, Erwin. Proverbs 22:9A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor. Elementus Green 10:13, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Someone should probably add this text to the Q & A page.

Recently, many of AIOWiki's editors have become busy with school; because of this, it may take longer than expected for your question to be answered. Thank you for your patience!

A Question about Bernard and Eugene

Does anyone know how Eugene and Bernard are related? I'm trying to find the answer but am having a hard time. Any help would be muchly appreciated! :D — Eugene [talk] 16:59, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

I think Bernard's 3rd cousin is Martha Mushnik but I'll give #157: “Last in a Long Line” a listen through this afternoon Reddo 17:11, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
I'm listening to it now; Proverbs 22:9 Elementus Green 17:16, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
Ok, so Martha Mushnik is Eugene's great-aunt (the sister of his maternal grandmother). Martha Mushnik is ALSO Bernard's third cousin. That means that Eugene is the great-nephew of Bernard's third cousin. According to Wolfram Alpha, that makes Eugene Bernard's 3rd cousin twice removed. I've also got some geneology software, so I'm drawing it up and I'll post a pic when I'm done. http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=great+nephew+of+third+cousin Proverbs 22:9 Elementus Green 18:07, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
Proverbs 22:9 Elementus Green 18:47, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
I looked at the tree that Erwin made, and I think I do agree with him; the one I posted is slightly different since it assumes that Martha Mushnik had a married name of Walton. However, Bernard just says that her maiden name was Mushnik, not whether she married into or out of the family. And, given Borealis' statement that Eugene was a testiment to both the waltons and the Mushniks, it seems that the Erwin interpretation of the Mushniks as a key branch of the Walton Family is more likely. Qumran

I recently found some behind-the-scene roughs, renderings, script thumbnails, and storyboards from The Caves of Qumran on the director's website. I linked it up on the film's page; is there any point in uploading the drawings, in case the website that hosts them ever goes down? Or do we not want to bog the wiki down? Rachel Maxwell 04:45, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Is it even possible to bog a wiki down? I say upload 'em. The less a website visitor has to click to see content, the better. MarvelousMarvin 19:02, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
the only thing that bogs down a wiki is lots of visitors at the same time and doing intensive calculations like what we have with intersection. Those images are all Copyright FOTF so I don't see any problem with putting them up here Reddo 18:01, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

It looks like the size converting is not working somewhere, because I uploaded file:53front.svg and put it in the sandbox at 1000px. It should look perfect, because it's all vector based, but it doesn't. God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 03:54, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
It looks like it is enlarging a thumbnail of the .svg file, and since the thumbnail is not 1000px, it is distorted. (I'm pretty sure the thumbnail is in .png) AIOCREFan 14:39, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Nope, it should be able to resize as big as we want. That is what it's doing, but it shouldn't be. God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 22:11, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

US or Brit

So, as a general rule, do we want to go by British or American grammar rules? God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 03:18, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

News Item Comments

I just had an idea pop into my head and wanted everyone's thoughts about it. So, my idea is that we would allow comments on news items via their discussion page. I've already tested a way to link to the discussion pages by adding code to the news item template. And we could create a template to format those discussion pages a little nicer. Thoughts? — Eugene [talk] 16:37, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

could also add something like this:

User:Reddo/comment#disqus_thread

to the end of each news item and have it link to the proper page Reddo 00:41, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
I was thinking that we would just simply use the news item's discussion page to leave comments like we do here. But that looks really cool. Can I leave a comment using my AIO Wiki account instead of say, my Yahoo! profile? — Eugene [talk] 04:41, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
i don't think we can really intergrate it like that with the wiki, but i'll see what i can do Reddo 06:01, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

category ratings

the current system that we have requires me to actually run a script that updates all the ratings, this takes the wiki down for ~3 hours (i usually do it at like 3 am eastern time though so people don't notice) while the server tries to update everything and i usually forget to do it. I've made a new design though, it'll be slightly slower (very slightly) to just transclude a rating like {{cat rating:....}} but most places on the wiki the ratings get called in a dpl call that's been cached and there'll be no difference in time then. one big plus with this though is that the ratings will auto refreash themselves if a users goes to view a page that has a rating that hasn't been updated in a while or when someone clicks purge at the top of a page. I think i've got all the bugs worked out and it's been running on eugene's page for sometime now, i've tested an automated way to changed all the pages over to the new version, if there are no objections i'll update them sometime tomorrow Reddo 05:54, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

This has now been completed Reddo 22:35, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

Album Template

I noticed that there were Album templates for Albums 49-52 but no other templates. Do they need to be created or is that template only for the newer albums? Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 22:03, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

extensions

what are some thoughts on making browser extensions for the wiki? i'd be willing to TRY and make an extension for Firefox, chrome and use pinned features in IE 9 (if you pin IE 9 you'll notice i spent a few minutes on it already). The only thing is what do we do with them? I'd like it to be more than just a list of links Reddo 05:57, 17 September 2010 (UTC)

Gold Audio Albums

I was thinking the other day. I noticed that all of the gold audio series albums covers were squished down for the CD releases. Therefore the original aspect has been lost. I was wondering if it was alright if I replaced all of the gold audio cd albums covers with something like this:
File:05front-realaspect.jpg
Since the CDs were released with the squished cover, we would keep the same 3D image.

New Glennall's Betrayal Cover

I was searching around Tyndale's website, and ran across the new cover of Glennall's Betrayal!! Yay! I've already uploaded it to the wiki and have written a news article, too. I don't want to post the article until tomorrow (Monday), but here it is if I don't get to it in time.

{{Newsitem

Quotation marks on episode titles

Guys, I just wanted to point out that many of you are using the "ep" template in the wrong places. Quotation marks are ONLY needed around the episode title when the title is used in a sentence. Don't use the "ep" template when the episode title is used merely as a header to a page or a section thereof. Repeat: only use the "ep" template when the episode title is referenced in a sentence. If you don't understand this concept, ask me to explain it in further detail. MarvelousMarvin 18:37, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

Heh, sorry if part of that was me; I started to add it everywhere I saw fit. Out of curiousity though, is this a real punctuation rule (not to add quotes if the title is not in a sentence), or do you just suggest the rule so our pages don't look so "formal"? Erwin Springer [talk] 02:04, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
It's a real punctuation rule. I asked my English teacher about it and even gave her a few wiki examples. It's a real rule. MarvelousMarvin 12:47, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

download links

as you've probably heard you can now download episodes straight from the CBD site, I've contacted FOTF about it and we're supposed to refer to it as the family store and not mention CBD although we can use the favicon from CBD for linking (I don't understand that, but whatever). They'd like us to try and push the links to the new downloads and get them up as quickly as possible, Category:Episodes needing cbd link has a list of all the episodes that still need the links. I asked Focus for a list of all the episodes with their links but they don't have one yet so we'll have to do it on our own. To add a link just add a cbd field to the infobox and put in the item number on it for when you're right you're right it's just DA14923-8 the DA14923 is the same for all episodes in album 51 the -8 refers to it being the 8th item in the album even though it's only the 7th episode (the bonus features count too). Hopefully this makes it clear, if we all work on this together I'm sure we can get it done quickly Reddo 19:57, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

We also need to find an image that's about 61x18 to use for linking instead of just the favicon so it looks like it fits in more Reddo 20:05, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

I'm finished albums 48+ but it would really go faster if others would help out Reddo 23:41, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

YAY 356 left, we're over half way there. Yeah i know people are busy, that's okay plus the wiki's been stupid slow lately and giving off lots of errors making the process of doing something like this really frustrating, but it seems to be better now Reddo 06:04, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

refresh

For the last week, every time I click to go to another page or search something, it comes up with the "refresh" thing. It's starting to get annoying! Is it just my computer, or are other having the problem? And why is it doing it? I've logged out and logged back in, but it still doesn't work! Proverbs 31:30Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. ~ Aria ~ (talk) 19:13, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

no, it's not you and it's not your computer, they changed some servers around about a week ago and ever since things things have been bad i've been trying to get things better but it's not going well. Reddo 19:43, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
seems to be a lot better now, but it was definitely a server thing, on some pages my browser was showing a different favicon then ours so there was some other site that was using too many resources on it messing things up for us, I believe things have gotten back to normal now though, let me know is you see that error anymore
Thanks! It seems alot better now! Proverbs 31:30Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. ~ Aria ~ (talk) 07:34, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

yeah, it seems i spoke too soon as well, i've done all i can do but I've asked shadowpaw to talk to dreamhost about the problem Reddo 18:26, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

episode samples

i added a new paramter to the episode infobox for samples, this is used for the samples of the episodes posted on CBD, i had nathan send me the whole batch of them (700MB) i sent it in the infobox so that if there is no existing preview for it it will use the sample as the original samples are better done, the samples were just quickly thrown together. I already imported them all into the wiki, we'll just need to add the paramter to year page, it's probably easiest done with a bot if you guys want to work at it along with the cbd links go for it, if not I'm back from holidays on tuesday and can probably get a bot of some sort working for it. have a good weekend Reddo 20:49, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

oh just a note, don't change the template to be something something where sample gets info straight from the ep_num as it won't work on split episodes

Can't we just utilize the ifexist function to test if any of the files are on the wiki based on the naming scheme? Erwin Springer [talk] 21:29, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
we could, ifexist is an expensive (time consuming and cpu intensive) plus there's the whole split episode problem, other than that we could Reddo 21:31, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
just an addition pages have a very low limit for expensive functions so episode pages would work well other pages like 1988 Season would not as they'd also have to have the ifexists function Reddo 22:02, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

episodes reviews

What do other members think of this idea? How about having a page just on episode and video pages where you can review an episode? Instead of just having the rating at the bottom of the episode information, I thought it would be cool to have a place where users can tell what they like and dislike. Should we have another logo contest this fall, as we did in 2008 & 2009? Even though Eugene's logo is superb, I think we should stay consistent can create a contest that we can be known for. Erwin Springer [talk] 00:02, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

I think we should have a contest but maybe leave Eugene's logo in the contest so that it can receive votes and possibly stay the logo. Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 02:15, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
Naw I think that it should go. I like it a lot, it's just getting stale and ready for a refresh. I would say go for it. I won't be able to work on it very much, I'm really busy with a big design project. I made this for the banner.

On second thought we kind of do need a new logo because that is an old picture of Whit. I already have one logo designed! Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 04:33, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
How about from here on out we standarize the submission dates? For example we could have entries due on December 1, voting during December, and then a new logo by the start of January. Reddo, can we use the poll extension this time instead of some other service? Erwin Springer [talk] 21:51, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Sounds like a plan to me. God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 21:57, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Adventures in Odyssey Themes

I would like to put some more stuff in about the themes for AIO. For example, I have a copy of the 1998 theme I would like to post, but I don't know how to post songs. Can some you tell me how? Greenduck77.

Hi Greenduck! If you're trying to upload an audio file you'll first have to create an account. Then visit Special:Upload from which you can upload the file to the wiki. Erwin Springer [talk] 01:12, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Greenduck again, I tried that but I can't link it with the theme page.

I fixed it. you just have to put {{mp3|file name.mp3}} God Bless ~ Nate ~ Talk 23:42, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

album 53

episode titles are out http://www.odysseyscoop.com/episodes/Episodes_2011.htm can someone make the pages? i have 2 mid-terms tomorrow source is from http://atc.radiocss.com/Audio-Theatre-Central/episode2-nathan-hoobler-interview thanks Reddo 21:58, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Userboxes

how do i use userboxes.... Glman ☲☳☶ (talk) 14:27, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

do you mean to put one on your user page? is so you just find which one you want on this list and then on your user page you put something like

{{Userbox/Chrome}}

Video Casts

I have found on IMDb the list of casts for the Adventures in Odyssey and they are listed in credits order but they do not list who they played. Does any know where there is a list of characters in credits order or if I produce a list could figure out who played who? Thanks for any help! Stop Wooton' Around (talk) 23:29, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

P.S. I have figured out if there is only one female actor and one female character.

other languages

just wondering what others think of how we should handle the episodes being translated into other languages, right now the visitors and whit's flop have been redone in spanish with plans for many more episodes to be done like this. Mike Makes Right has been recorded for india, there might be more but those are off the top of my head. One idea is to just make a template called languages or something and add it to the notes section for the episodes saying something like "this episode has also been recored in . . . . " along with a category and then use the categories to make a page for each language listing the episode. Reddo 19:00, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

I was thinking that we could create new namespaces for each language, then put a page for each album and episode in that language in the new namespace. We could then put links on the English version directing users to the other language pages (and vice versa) in a languages template, like what Reddo suggested. — Eugene [talk] 00:39, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Poll

Hey there should be a new poll. It's december now.Jared 15:38, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Should be up later today Reddo 16:10, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

poll results

I have a poll on my talk page, and only administrators can see the results. So if you are a administrators, then when you get a chance please tell me how many votes there are. I think the link is http://www.aiowiki.com/wiki/Special:PollResults I have two polls, they are called “Jared_DeWhite_2, Jared_DeWhite_3. --Jared 22:21, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

I got the percents of the poll results from Reddo (They might be the same if not could you update it reddo posted the results here, but could anyone tell me how many people voted in all. Also Is it possible to make it so where the results will appear right after someone votes (like the Whitsend.org poll)? Jared 22:21, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
it's very easy to change it so that the poll results are visible when a person votes, however when we started the poll feature it was decided that it should be hidden until the poll is over, I can change that easily but that changes it for all polls unfortunatly there is no option to configure it on a poll by poll basis Reddo 23:53, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
Ok, no problem. I only thought that it might save you the time of telling me my poll results. Jared 02:49, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

family trees

How do you make family trees?! I can't make heads or tails out of it! Proverbs 31:30Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. ~ Aria ~ (talk) 21:18, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

it's rather complicated, the best way to learn is to go to a page with a family tree and edit it, then in the tool box on the left hand side you should see a link that says "templates -> art" or something like that. click it and it will change the templates into a more traditional style of family tree that you can play around with. just remember to click art -> templates to preview or save it Reddo 00:06, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

AIO Soundboard

Greenduck: I think it would be cool if we had a Adventures in Odyssey Soundboard. Similar to the Star Wars Soundboard. For instance, Somebody clicks on the Matthew Parker Soundboard character, and it pulls up quotes. Like "It's freak out time" and "Em, whats going to here?". and simple stuff like, "Yes", "No" & "Sure". It's just an idea. Here is a link to the star wars soundboard to see what it's like. [1]

that looks like a really cool idea but I don't think anyone here has the time or ability to do that right now, but it's an idea to keep in mind for the future Reddo 20:23, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Episode names

Some of the episode names need to be capitalized. Should I move the pages, or should an admin do it? Proverbs 31:30Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. ~ Aria ~ (talk) 14:32, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

you can go ahead and move them, just remember to also change the schedule pages to the proper capitalization Reddo 20:21, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
Where do you find the schedule pages? Proverbs 31:30Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. ~ Aria ~ (talk) 09:37, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
Go to the episode page that needs fixing. On the left hand side of the page, in the tab called "toolbox", click "what links here". The links for the schedule pages are in there. Hope that helps. MarvelousMarvin 16:53, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! Um, should I change all the links, or just the schedule? Proverbs 31:30Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. ~ Aria ~ (talk) 16:57, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
I've found that many of the links are automatic links from character pages and stuff like that, so a lot of them can't be changed. But for the most part, try and change as many of them as you can. I try and at least change the links from the episodes before and after the episode page I'm fixing. MarvelousMarvin 17:07, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
YOU HAVE TO CHANGE THE ALL SCHEDULE PAGES IF YOU MOVE AN EPISODE. It's not an option, if you're just going to change the previous and next episode links don't bother moving them at all, it messes up the airdate section of the page, right now if you look at Family Vacation, Part 1 it says that it originally aired in 2001. 18:07, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

account problems

Hi, I'm Jared DeWhite. I'm not logged in right now because, Friday I was in my preferences, and I went to skin (I think it's called that, it's the one where you can change what the AIO wiki looks like on your computer), and I went to the bottom one and picked it. Now whenever I log in it just says, Override this function. So I don't know if there is anything anyone can do, or not. Thank You.

yeah vector is something i've been working on but it's not ready yet, if you go here you should be able to change your skin Reddo 20:22, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
The problem is in order to change it, I have to be logged in, and whenever I'm logged in it just says "Override this function
yeah, you have to copy that link, log in, then go to that url and it should work Reddo 23:06, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks a lot Reddo!!! Jared 00:07, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

Poll Comments

I was thinking that it might be cool to add a comments section to the polls page to discuss the subject of the poll. I don't know how well that would work or how hard it would be to put together, though. Thoughts?

We could just use the discussion page, if there is one. Blueberry 22:23, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
there's one discussion page for all the polls as a whole so that's not an ideal option, and it wouldn't really work well with out current comment system as it only works properly for one comment area on a page, but i'll keep this in mind Reddo 00:01, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

Q & A Help

I answered a question on the AIOwiki Q & A section,, but it isn't showing up. When I push the edit button it is there, but not on the question page. - Rocketrider231

That's fixed, there was an error with the code. A character was missing. Blueberry 18:30, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

I think you need to change the question|answered=no to question|answered=yes. I did it for you. Proverbs 31:30Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. ~ Aria ~ (talk) 09:14, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

Watch feature

What is the "watch" feature for? Blueberry 18:20, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Whenever there is a change in the page that you "watched", it sends you an email. - Rocketrider231
it doesn't have to email you, the watch list is a list of articles that you wish to watch for changes, you can access it from the top right corner and it'll show pages you've selected along with the most recent edit time, if you wish to be emailed when they are changed you can do that too Reddo 00:03, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, the word I should have used was 'notify.' - Rocketrider231

changes

i installed a few anti-spam measures this morning, to hopefully lessen the spam we've been getting, let me know if you see anything that appears broken and i'll look into it Reddo 20:40, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

Discontinue an account?

I was just wondering, is there anyway to discontinue an account? I want to know just in case AIO Wiki gets too addicting for me, and I need to stop. Rocketrider231

i (or any other admin) can always block you if you want, then you won't be able to edit while logged in Reddo 17:47, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Album images

In the front art section for some albums, such as Album 23, there is also another picture for a different album. in album 23, there's the album 21 picture. There in the place that appears after you click on the front art. WikiFan 19:21, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

hmm, not sure what you're talking about, on the album 23 page all the art is from album 23, there was a bit of a mix up a couple of months ago with the art for 23 and 21 but that has long since been fixed Reddo 20:06, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, well, sorry for the trouble. WikiFan 20:46, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Malted Milk Ball Falcon Page

Hey, someone wrote "The crime scene is awesommme!!" in the notes for "The Malted Milk Ball Falcon". This is really an opinion and not a fact. Should this be removed? - Rocketrider231

Yes, it should. I removed it. Proverbs 31:30Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. ~ Aria ~ (talk) 09:06, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
